He had been ill for some time. Mr. Crotchett was the son of the late Amos and Johanna Giberson Crotchett and was born in Greene County on December 5, 1873. Mr. Crotchett was engaged in farming for fifty-five years. Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Sophia Scoggins Crotchett of Kane, six sons, Ross, James, Arnold and Lawrence Crotchett of Kane, Thomas Crotchett of Carrollton and Melvin Crotchett of the U.S. Army stationed in Germany and three daughters, Mrs. Annas Hyde of Carrollton, Miss Ethel Dimple Crotchett of Jerseyville and Mrs. Hazel Krause of Shipman. He also leaves twenty-six grandchildren; one brother Jake Crotchett of Eldred and one half-brother, George Hargett of Springfield. One grandson Louis Crotchett is serving in the U.S. Navy. Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon, May 23 at 2:30pm at the Baptist Church in Kane. Rev. Mason Smith officiated at the rites and interment was in the Kane Cemetery.

A farmer in Greene County, he retired in 1967 and was member of King Solomon Masonic Lodge No. 197 in Kane since 1938 and a charter member of Jerseyville Moose Lodge No. 695 since 1948. He married the former Martha Sevier March 16, 1967, in Pittsfield. She died Jan. 12, 1993. Surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and Fred Krause of Shipman; two sisters-in-law, Emeline Crotchett of Kane and Myrtle Crotchett of Jerseyville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a foster son, James Duba; five brothers, James, Ross, Arnold, Melvin and Lawrence Crotchett; and two sisters, Dimple Charlton and Annis Hyde. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Gubser Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where Masonic rites will be at 4 p.m. by King Solomon Lodge No. 197. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Ed Haun will officiate. Burial will be at Kane Cemetery. Memorials may be made to King Solomon Lodge No. 197 in Kane.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 pm Thursday at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Services will be at the funeral home at 10am Friday with the Rev. Mark Eter officiating. Burial will be in Kane Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or a charity of one's choice.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Darrell Allen of Shipman; grandchildren, Dean Allen, Darren(Angie) Allen and Terrill and Tamara Allen, all of Shipman, Ann (Richard) Gregory of Gillespie and Monte Ketchum of Shipman; great-grandchildren, Anne Nichole Gregory, Andrew Gregory and Stephen Gregory, all of Gillespie, Ryan Petroline and Tyler Allen., both of Shipman; many nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, George and Frances Krause of Shipman. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Loretta Lee Krause; two sisters, Annas Hyde and Dimple Charlton; six brothers, Ross, James, Thomas, Arnold, Melvin and Hazel's twin brother, Lawrence Crotchett.

He was born in Rockbridge, Illinois, in on Feb. 27, 1928, the son of the late Ross M. and Enid I. (Stringer) Crotchett.

Darrell married Carol H. Wells at Kane Baptist Church in Kane on July 9, 1955, and she survives.

He was employed at Owens Illinois Glass as a pipefitter for over 35 years. He was a member of the Alton Moose, served as president for the Owenized Club for two terms, was a pitcher for 33 years for fast pitch soft ball known as"Fireball Archie" and enjoyed golfing. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, and five children and their spouses; Randy and Mona Crotchett of Bethalto, Sherry Hallows of Alton, Tammy and Rick McClain of Alton, Robin and John Kelly of Maryland and Pamyla and Steve Emery of California; seven siblings: Nola Cambell of Alton, Jim and Pam Crotchett of Jerseyville, Kenneth and Esther Crotchett of Springfield, Kentner and Naomi Crotchett of Gas City, Indiana, Lois and Deanie Carr of Jerseyville, Taunjai Crotchett of Jerseyville and Meda and Wilbur Gowins of Jerseyville; fifteen grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great grandson, James Bounds, a brother, Winston Crotchett, a sister-in-law, Ruth Crotchett, and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Cambell.

Visitation will be at 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, Illinois. on Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, with the Rev. David Weimer officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

He was born in Kane on Nov. 24, 1934, the son of the late Ross William and Enid Ione (Stringer) Crotchett.

Winston grew up in Kane amidst a large, loving family, and graduated in 1952 from Jersey Community High School.

He soon embarked on a 21 year career with the United States Air Force, serving all over the world in addition to his service during the Vietnam War.

He retired in 1974, as a master sergeant, and relocated to Springfield, Ill.

He then began working with the Illinois Department of Transportation, working in highway maintenance before retiring in September 1996.

He relocated to Jerseyville in 1984, and practiced his deep faith in the Lord in his daily life. He was a former member of the First Assembly of God, and was currently a member of the Charity Christian Center, both in Jerseyville. He could easily be counted on to serve his Lord and his community in any aspect that he was needed.

He married the former Taunjai Sripapong on Feb. 23, 1974, in Las Vegas, and together they have shared and been blessed with 40 years together.

Surviving are his wife, Taunjai Crotchett of Jerseyville; a son, Johnny Ross Crotchett of South Carolina; a daughter, Peggy Ann Foulkes of Greenwood, S.C; two grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Meda and Wilbur Gowin of Jerseyville, Lois and Richard Carr of Jerseyville and Nola Campbell of Alton; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Darrell and Carol Crotchett of Alton, Kenneth and Esther Crotchett of Springfield, Kentner and Naomi Crotchett of Gas City, Ind., and James and Pamela Crotchett of Jerseyville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, David Foulkes; an infant sister, Mary Jean; an infant brother, Mike; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Campbell; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Crotchett.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m., Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 27, at the Charity Christian Center in Jerseyville, with Rev. Wilbur Cain officiating.

Burial will be in the Kane Cemetery with military honors being conducted by Scott Air Force Base.

Memorials may be given to the Charity Christian Center in Jerseyville or to the Blessing Hospice of Greene County.

She was born in Jerseyville on Feb. 19, 1936, and was the daughter of Ross Millian and Enid Ione(Stringer) Crotchett.

Nola Bea grew up in Kane, alongside her many siblings, and graduated in 1954 from Jersey Community High School, where she excelled in athletics. She earned an athletic scholarship to Illinois State University in Normal, where she obtained her BS in Physical Education and English.

She began her teaching assignment at Civic Memorial High School in Bethalto, and then to CarrolltonCommunity High School, where she remained for numerous years serving as a physical education teacher, softball and tennis coach, and served as their cheerleading and Girls Athletic Association sponsor. After a period of time she accepted a position with the Jersey Community Unit 100 School District, serving at IlliniJunior High School as a physical education and health teacher, as well as coaching the track and volleyball teams. She also created the Illini Junior High School Gymnastics Circus, an organization that she took great pride.

Nola Bea was a loving and caring woman, who sought to help others in both their everyday life as well as their spiritual well being. She was a devoted member of the First Assembly of God in Jerseyville, and was active in their Women's Ministry. In her spare time, she enjoyed following the St. Louis Cardinals, along with crafting and sewing.

She married Kenneth Eugene Campbell Sr. on May 29, 1959 at the Kane Baptist Church, and together they shared 49 years of marriage prior to his death on Aug. 13, 2008.

Surviving are her three children and their spouses, Enid and Bill Kinkel of Alton, Kimberly and DavidWeishaupt of Brighton, and Kenneth and Wendy Campbell Jr. of Brighton; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Whitney and Jeff Mullink of Bunker Hill, Merideth and Matt Springman of Brighton, Kelsey and Brian Burns of Brighton, Billy and Courtney Kinkel of Godfrey, Jordan and Ryan Geolat of Glendale, Mo., Ian Campbell, stationed with the United States Army National Guard in Monterey, Ca., and Riley Campbell of Brighton; eight great grandchildren, Kyle and Ethan Mullink, Thor and Axel Springman, Lucy and Jack Burns, Blakely and Brody Kinkel; two sisters and brothers in-law, Meda and Wilbur Gowin of Jerseyville, and Lois and Richard Carr of Jerseyville; three brothers and sisters in-law, Kenneth and Esther Crotchett of Springfield, Kentner and Naomi Crotchett of Gas City, In., and James and Pamela Crotchett of Jerseyville; two sisters in-law, Carol Crotchett of Alton and Taunjai Crotchett of Jerseyville; and a brother in-law and sister in-law, Darrell "Bill" and Mary Jane Campbell of Dow.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday. Rev. Larry Hayes will officiate.

She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at the Kane Cemetery.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Louis, are three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Tom Woolsey of West Palm Beach, Fla., Barb Alexander of Jerseyville and Cindy and Doug Bean of Kane; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Mary Crotchett of Carrollton, David and Sherry Crotchett of Jerseyville and Brian Crotchett of Kane; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Betty Thurston and John and Mary Jo Thurston, all of Jerseyville, and William and Judith Thurston of Branson, Mo; and her mother-in-law, Emeline Crotchett of Kane.
