Death25 May 1935Peter John Rupp Sr. died on 25 May 1935 at at home, Tennyson, Grant, Wisconsin, at age 71 Mr. Peter Rupp, 71, passed away Saturday evening at 8 oclock after lingering illness of about two months. He is the last of the family of Mr. and Mrs. John Rupp, five brothers preceding him in death. They are John, Frank, Anthony, and Henry and five sisters. Mrs. Mary Heller, Mrs. Elisabeth Glassmaker, Mrs. Anna Bush, Mrs. Cathrine Meoska, Mrs. Anna Bauer and Margaret, Sister Amelia. He ia survived by his wife and five sons, Peter Jr. of Cuba City, Philip and Leo of Milwaukee, Frank and Albert of Potosi, and one daughter Elisabeth at home. One daughter Luaella and two sons John and Leonard proceeded him in death. Peter Rupp was born and raised in Tennyson and lived on tha old homestead until a number of year ago. Ha built himself a beautiful bungalow where Mr. and Mrs. Rupp lived contented and happy. Mr. Rupp was 71 years, 11 months and 24 days old. Funeral service was held Wednesday at 9 oclock, the Rev. M. Haas officiating at a Requiem High mass. He was buried in the new cemetery across from the church. He will be missed by his relatives and friends for he was always a kind and good neighbor.

Death17 February 1932Lucille Mary Rupp died on 17 February 1932 at Tennyson, Grant, Wisconsin, at age 21 When Lucille Mary Rupp was born on Friday, November 18, 1910, in Potosi, Wisconsin, her father, Peter, was 47 and her mother, Josephine, was 41. She was the youngest of seven brothers and one sister. She was a handsome girl, bright and of a studious nature. Everybody was her friend and loved her kind and lovable disposition. She attended a parochial school and gave her every attention to her studies. She first became afflicted with what was pronounced as poisoned goitre. For this she received the best of medical and attentive care at J.C. Doolittle hospital in Lancaster, Wisconsin. She was apparently on the way to recovery when she again became afflicted and died of septicemia. She died on Wednesday, February 17, 1932, in Tennyson, Wisconsin, at the age of 21.

Brink, 102, of Benton, Wisconsin, died Monday, November 4, 2019, at Epione Pavilion in Cuba City. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 8, 2019, at St. Patrick’s Church in Benton with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 9-10:45 a.m. Friday at the church before the service. Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Benton is assisting the family.

Leila was born on August 19, 1917, in Cassville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Peter and Odelia “Delia” (Wiest) Rupp. She married Willard Brink on April 11, 1939, in Cuba City, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death in 1972.

Leila enjoyed her time with her family and babysitting her grandchildren. She was a member of the Altar Society and took care of the Altar linens for many years. Leila enjoyed going out to eat, shopping, cooking, and baking, especially Christmas cookies. She obtained her driver’s license when she was 54.

Survivors include two daughters, Marie (Ron) Wonders, Belleville, WI, and Phyllis (Charles) Berning, Menominee, IL; two sons, Vernon (friend, Carol) Brink, and Kenneth (Danette) Brink, both of Benton; two sisters, Dorothy Puls, Tucson, AZ, and Edna Watters, Swaledale, IA; a brother, Ambrose (Lois) Rupp, Benton; eleven grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren with one on the way.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Louis and Leonard Rupp; two grandchildren, Ronda Brink and David Brink; four sisters-in-law, Hazel Rupp, Marie Rupp, Gloria Rupp, and Louise Rupp; and two brothers-in-law, Odo Puls and Carl Watters.

Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Thursday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 2:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 8:30-9:45 a.m. Friday at the funeral home before the service.

Lenny was born on August 25, 1925, in Potosi, Wisconsin, the son of Peter B. and Odelia A. (Wiest) Rupp. He married Marie Lange on April 22, 1948. She preceded him in death on May 8, 1973. He married Louise McWilliams on September 25, 1975. She preceded him in death on February 23, 2001.

Lenny served as both supervisor and chairman of the Hazel Green Township Board from 1978-2005. He was also a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #765 of Cuba City. Lenny had a passion for family, farming and horses. He also enjoyed a good game of euchre.

Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Splinter, of Hazel Green; three sons, Joseph (Marie) Rupp, of Hazel Green, James (Debbie) Rupp and John (Kathy) Rupp, both of Cuba City; three stepdaughters, Ruth Ann (Robert) Summers, of Cuba City, Joyce (Tom) Connors, of Dubuque, and Marie McWilliams, of Platteville; two stepsons, Kenny (Carol) McWilliams, of Cuba City, and Jim (Donna) McWilliams, of Hastings, Minnesota; three sisters, Leila Brink, of Benton, Dorothy Puls, of Omaha, Nebraska, and Edna Watters, of Swaledale, Iowa; a brother, Ambrose (Lois) Rupp, of Benton; two sisters-in-law, Gloria Rupp, of Cuba City, and Marion Lange, of Hazel Green; a brother-in-law, Louie (JoAnn) Lange, of Benton; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Louis Rupp; five brothers-in-law, Bill Brink, Odo Puls, Carl Watters, Raymond Lange, and Harry Lange; and a son-in-law, Arthur Splinter.

She is survived by her husband, two daughters, two sons, and one granddaughter little Helen Heinen; also five brothers and one sister; Frank, John and Anton Rupp of, Cherokee; Peter and Ben Rupp: of Potosi, Wis. ...

Funeral services were held at 9:00 o'clock Wednesday morning from Immaculate Conception, Rev. Father Cooke of Marcus conducting the service, in the absence of Rev. Father Masterson. Interment was made at Mary Hill.

He is survived by his widow; two sons, Sylvester A. of Meriden, and Louis J. of Cleghorn; two daughters, Mrs. Josephine Heinen and Mrs. Lloyd Conley both of Cherokee; two brothers, John Bauer, Cherokee, and Frank Bauer, Dubuque; five sisters, Lena Grode, Milwaukee, Mary Metz, Adrian, Minn., Lizzie Fest, Heron Lake, Minn., Sister Salesina, Chicago, Martha Bauer, Minnesota; also eight grandchildren.

Funeral rites will be held Tuesday at 9 a. m. at the Immaculate Conception church in charge of Rev. Fr. F. P. Schultes, with burial at Maryhill cemetery.

Rosary will be said Monday evening at 8:30 in the time for the funeral. Knights of Columbus will meet in a body and say the Rosary at 7:30 p. m. Monday.

Mrs. Theodore Minoske, after almost a year's illness, died at her home in the town of Potosi Monday. She was born in the town of Potosi on the 11th day of September ___, and died aged fifty-eight (?) years, eleven months and fourteen days.
The funeral took place on Thursday morning from her late home to St. Andrew's Catholic church were she had worshiped her entire life. The funeral was largely attended.
She was a member of the Ladies' Alter society and the members of the society attended the funeral in a body. A solemn requiem mass was celebrated by Rev. Father Schaffer and the interment was made in the cemetery nearby. She was married to Theodore Minoke in Potosi, Feb. 8, 1890 (?). To this union was born ten children, eight of whom survive and those with the sorrowing husband and father mourn the death of the loving wife and mother. The sorrowing children are Mrs. Mary Schmeider and John of Woodstock, Minn; Mrs. Frank Shields of Dubuque; Mrs. John Schroeder, Angeline, Adeline, Oscar and Albert of Polosi.

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Liebfried, 65, wife of Charles Leibfried, who died last Saturday in Xavier Hospital, Dubuque, after a one year illness, were held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, Tennyson, with the Rev. Albert Sthubiger officiating at the Requiem Mass. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery. The daughter of the late Peter and Josephine (Stelpflug) Rupp, Mrs. Liebfried was born Decemher 26, 1897, in Potosi Township. Except for some years, spent in Milwaukee, Mrs. Leibfried spent the major part of her life in this area. She was a member of St Andrew's Altar Society. Surviving besides her husband are four brother, Frank, Leo and Albert Rupp, Milwaukee, and Frank Rupp, New Berlin. The Rosary was recited Sunday and Monday nights at the Eckstein Funeral Home, Potosi.
