William Rands was born in Wales. When a young man, he came to Canada. He married Anna Sparling in 1850. Anna was born in Limerick, Ireland. She came to Canada with her sister and brother in 1847. Her brother was a Methodist Minister. All their children were born at Brussells, Ontario, Canada. They moved to North Dakota. A few years -- 1881 -- later they moved to near Tripp, South Dakota. They lived on a farm.'
