He and his second wife, Sarah, were buried on their farm in Alma. Two years later, when the farm was sold to Mr. John Cunningham, their bodies were moved to the Wilson Cemetery on theri grandson's farm owned by Samuel E. Wilson.

She was united in marriage to Everett Pletzer on September 15, 1945 and they were happily married for 46 years. Helen’s mother preceded her in death in 1921, at which time she and her sisters, Mary and Ann, lived with their grandmother, Mary Stoltz. Helen and her sisters lived on a forty-acre farm and were often dressed alike and known affectionately as the “Doyle Girls.” When Helen was 8 years old, her father married Catherine O’Brien and the girls moved to Reedsburg. Catherine and Jerry were blessed with 3 more girls, Eleanor, Nora and Pat. During Helen’s long life, she was a fantastic wife and homemaker who enjoyed raising her 2 children, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also an excellent Elementary School Teacher. Helen taught school for 38 years positively influencing the lives of countless children. While she was busy teaching school, Helen cared for her husband and her children, was an active member of St. John’s Catholic Church, was an outstanding cook and impeccable housekeeper, and continued her own education. She graduated from Platteville University at age 50 and was a role model to both of her children. Helen is survived by her children, John (Gloria) of Prairie du Sac, Mary Ellen (Larry) Ruppert of Madison, 5 grandchildren, Anne (Andy) Weiland, Michael (Kelly) Pletzer, Joseph (Melissa) Pletzer, Christopher (Candice) Ruppert, Jennifer (Paul) Crowley, 9 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Nora (Ray) Milhbauer and Pat Kautzer both of Reedsburg, a sister-in-law, Alner Pletzer of Spring Green, along with many relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Spring Green. Fr. Mike Resop will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Mass. The family would like to thank Mom’s relatives and friends and the caring staff of Greenway Manor for enriching her life. Mom, you were an accomplished woman of deep faith with a great work ethic. You are and always have been our guiding light. Our lives have been shaped by your influence. Our memories are many and will carry us through until we all meet again with you and dad in our everlasting family. We love you and will miss you dearly, but your work on earth is done. The Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home in Spring Green is assisting the family with the arrangements.
