Martha Dischler was born February 20, 1922 to Joseph and Mary (nee: Laubmeier) Dischler in Plain, Wisconsin. On August 25, 1936 she joined the Racine Dominicans and at her reception in 1939 she was given the religious name Sister Clara. She professed her first vows in 1941 and her final vows in 1947. Sister Clara spent many years in service to others in education as a teacher and principal. She began her ministry in 1940 at Holy Name, Racine, Wisconsin. Other places in Wisconsin where she served were St. John, South Milwaukee; St. Mary, Tomah; St. John, Little Chute; and St. Luke, Plain. She also served in Michigan, Illinois and Alaska. She moved to Siena Center, Racine in 1991 where she managed the Card Shop from 1992 to 2003. In January 2010 she became a resident at Lakeshore Manor, Racine. Sister Clara is survived by the Racine Dominican Sisters and Associates; her brother Simon (Mary Jane) Dischler; sisters Margaret Chase, and Clara Ruegsegger; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her brothers Thomas, Charles and Lucas; and sisters Infant Bernadine Dischler, Lucy Gruber, Genevieve Bindl, Agnes Berget, Elizabeth Liegel and Theresa Brown. Visitation will be in the Siena Center Chapel on Thursday, February 28, beginning at 9:00 a.m. with a Remembering Service at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery Hwy 32. Memorials to the Racine Dominican Mission Fund have been suggested. The Racine Dominicans would like to extend their thanks to the staff that cared for Sister Clara at Lakeshore Manor.

Lucas graduated from mechanical school at Fort Lewis, Wash., and served in Hawaii until being honorably discharged in 1947. He owned and operated the Wiota Tavern for the following eight years. On July 30, 1952, he married Virginia J. Wahler at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Gratiot. They moved to Monroe in 1958. Lucas was employed at the United Telephone Company for 26 years, retiring in 1985. Lucas was a member of the St. Victor Parish. He was an avid sportsman and took great pride in providing for his family by fishing and hunting. He truly loved the outdoors. He also had the ability to repair almost anything brought to his workbench. In recent years, Lucas had a hobby in his home making craft items out of aluminum cans. He enjoyed vendoring at area craft shows for several years. Survivors include his wife, Virginia; four daughters, Cathy (Larry) Wehinger of Monroe, Linda (Bill) Pinnow of Orangeville, Ill., Sally (Greg) Damsgard of Cottage Grove, Minn., and Karen Dischler of Inver Grove Heights, Minn; five grandchildren, Marci (Jacob) Boss of Monroe, Brandon Pennow, and Lucas, Evan, and Russell Damsgard; his brother, Simon (Mary Jane) Dischler of North Freedom; four sisters, Theresa (Merle) Brown of Monroe, Margaret Chase of Sun Prairie, Sr. Clara Dischler O.P. of Racine and Clara (Russell) Ruegsegger of South Wayne. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Thomas (Marie) Dischler, Charles "Butch" Dischler; five sisters, Betty (Luke) Liegel, Lucy (Edward) Gruber, Genevieve (Simon) Bindl, Agnes (Roger) Berget and Bernadine in infancy; and a grandchild, Jillian Damsgard at birth. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2005, at ST. VICTOR'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Monroe, with Father Michael Klarer officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, South Wayne. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 27, 2005, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at SHRINER-HAGER-GOHLKE FUNERAL HOME, 1455 Mansion Drive and 18th Avenue in Monroe. To this union was born nine children, Stephen, John and Frank of Montpelier, George of Clair Co., Mich., Mrs. Kinney of Montpelier and Mrs. Mary Beek of Detroit.
Mr. Traxler moved from Pennsylvania to Delaware township, Defiance Co. and from thence to Northwest township in Williams Co., in 1863. Mrs. Traxler, the companion and mother died in 1870. Mr. Traxler was then united in marriage to Hannah Larr. To this union was born eight children, three sons and five daughters, none of whom survive.
In 1882 he came to Montpelier where he has since resided. Being a quiet, reserved, honest, upright citizen he has won and held the highest esteem of his fellows. In his dealings with men he showed himself a friend, was honest and in this respect judged others by himself. He was not altogether faultless, yet he leaves a legacy which is far better than silver or gold namely, the influence of an honest and upright life, an example worthy of imitation.
There are left to mourn a companion, seven children, eighteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren besides numerous friends.
Funeral services were held Friday at 10:30 at the First U. B. Church conducted by E. A. Lilly. Interment in city cemetery.

Surviving are five sons, Ray of Walled Lake, Mich., Vern Montpelier route 1, Adam and Noah, both of Montpelier, and Volney, Pioneer route 2; four daughters, Mrs. Annice Buntain of Montpelier, Mrs. Eva Woolace of Stryker, Mrs. Goldie Fackler of Camden, Mich., and Mrs. Mary Otos of Defiance; two brothers, Henry Scantlen of Battle Creek, Mich., and Arthur Scantlen of Quincy, Mich; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Nolan of Luther, Mich., and Mrs. Effie Robinson of Owosso, Mich; 48 grandchildren, 115 great grandchildren, and 46 great-great grandchildren. She was a member of the Gleaners Society and was a charter and oldest member of the Bridgewater Aid.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Wilson Funeral Home, with Rev. Roy Zehner of Pioneer officiating. Interment will be in the *Pearl Grove Cemetery at Pioneer. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today *Should be Floral Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Traxler had retired from farming in Williams County and Hillsdale County, Mich., and in later years, he had worked as a self-employed painter.
In February 1956, he married the former Lucy McAfee in Columbus, and she survives.
Also surviving are two step-daughters, Mrs. William (Jane) Carlton of De Tour Village, Mich., and Mrs. Kay McLane of Columbus; a brother Ray E. of Hudson, Fla; three sisters, Mrs. Eva Woolace of Stryker, Mrs. Mary Otos of rural Bryan and Mrs. Lavohn (Goldie) Fackler of rural Camden, Mich; 11 stepgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were five brothers, two sisters and a stepgrandchild.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Thompson Funeral Home, Pioneer, with Bruce E. Strine, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Floral Grove Cemetery, Pioneer.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to the Williams County unit of the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

A retired foreman at the Winzeler Stamping Co., Mr. Traxler was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Montpelier Lodge 547 F & AM and Lillian Chapter 41 OES.
Surviving are his wife Mildred, a son and daughter-in-law, Lyle and Delores Traxler of Edgerton: a daughter, Karen Hill of Route 3, Montpelier; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Volney of Pioneer and Ray of Port Richey, Fla; and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Otos of Montpelier, Mrs. Eva Woolace of Stryker and Mrs. Lavohn (Goldie) Fackler of Camden, Mich.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Wilson-Geesey Funeral Home in Montpelier with Rev. L Eugene McCormack of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Friends may call in the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Monday and after 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Preferred memorials are to the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church or the Northwest Ohio Lung Association. Masonic memorial services will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church of Montpelier and Women of the Moose in Bryan.
Her husband, Henry L. Otos preceded her in death on June 17, 1968.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Lavohn (Goldie) Fackler of Camden, Mich., and Mrs. Eva Woolace of Stryker; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were a son, James Crawford; six brothers, Alva, Noah, Vern, Volney, Adam and Ray Traxler; and two sisters, Annice Buntain and Maude Thorp.
