He preceded her in death on November 14, 1975. She later married Milton Wollschlager on December 17, 1983. He died on July 7, 2006. LaVera was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Stone Church where she was active in the WELCA and the Sunday School. She enjoyed quilting, rug braiding and her flower gardens. Survivors include her three children: William (Phyllis) Schwartz, of Loganville; Ronald (Betty) Schwartz, of Oconomowoc and Carole (Bill) Beix, of Portage; six grandchildren: Brenda Schwartz, Susan (Kevin) Strutz, Kathy Schwartz, Craig (Gwen) Schwartz, Amy (Mike) Borchers and Rebecca (Chad) Hineman; fourteen great grandchildren; her sister-in-law: Evelyn Thies, of Reedsburg; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by seven brothers: Erwin, Henry, Herbert, Carl, Clarence, Raymond and Norman Thies; and three sisters: Esther Ott, Marcella Giese and Ruth Dreifke. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Stone Church, rural Rock Springs with Pastor Erich Hartenberger officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. There will be a visitation from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg and after 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials to the Zion Lutheran Stone Church would be appreciated. The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family.
