Death	12 May 2010	Cornelia M. Greenheck died on 12 May 2010 at age 95 Connie left her pain behind and joined the blessed on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. She felt fortunate to live her 95 years and have the experiences she did. Connie was born to Arnold and Rosina (Hutter) Greenheck on Sept. 30, 1914, in Ithaca Township. The second of six children, she lived in Marshfield and Augusta for short periods before coming back to Bear Valley to grow up. She had wonderful memories of "the old school house," St. Killian's, and galloping the horse to get the mail. Moving to Madison at 14, the memories grew as she did housekeeping, lived above the Goodman's Jewelry Store and worked for some years at Woolworths where Frank Lloyd Wright was a frequent visitor to her station at the lunch counter. She loved to talk about her "barnstorming" on motorcycle hill climbs and flying bi-planes, as well as playing baseball for Bowman Farms Dairy's team. She met Marcel Paar of Cross Plains and was married on Sept. 21, 1939, in Richland Center. Their first day of marriage was spent chopping cabbage to make sauerkraut! While in Madison, the two managed Kroger stores prior to moving to Verona in 1946 to open their own grocery store and meat market. After Marcel died in July 1964, she ran the store and was noted in an article in The Capital Times to be the only female meat cutter in the area. Closing the store in 1966, she worked several jobs for Dane County, retiring at 65 as receptionist in the Social Service Department in the same building that she had spent months as a TB patient. She finally retired at 77 years as a seamstress at the Dane County Hospital, only because she lost sight in one eye. She loved baking, gardening, sewing, knitting and crocheting, and passing on the results of her talents to family and friends. Connie was known to be a very competitive card player with a special group of ladies that she looked forward to playing with each month. She spent many years working with the Conference of Catholic Women of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Verona, where she was a longtime member. Connie is survived by her children, Corinne (Ron) Gillmeister of Sun City West, Ariz., Bill (Beth) Paar of Verona, Mary Jo (Richard) Wolk of Crystal Lake, Ill., and Roxann (Daryl) Glick of Janesville; a sister, Rosina Maag of Springfield, Mo; special sisters-in-law, Fern Greenheck of Sauk City, and Alice Greenheck of Spring Green; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marcel; grandchildren, Robert Gillmeister and Debra (Mike) Marschewski; and siblings, Andrew, Walter, Joseph and Alice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2010, at ST. ANDREW CATHOLIC CHURCH, 301 N. Main St., Verona with concelebrants Father William Vernon and Monsignor Delbert Schmelzer. Burial will follow at St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery, Verona. Visitation will be on Friday, May 14, 2010, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at JOYCE-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, Verona and again on Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.

Regina Ann Weitzel died on 12 May 2010 at age 97 Regina Ann Nachreiner, age 97, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, after a brief illness, at St Mary's Hospital in Madison.

She was born on March 14, 1913, in Bear Valley, the daughter of Edward and Anna Weitzel (Wolters). Regina was married on April 14, 1931, to Arthur Nachreiner and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

She and Art were married 70 years, and did many things. They were farmers most of their lives, but also were cheese makers, and Regina worked in the shirt factory in Reedsburg in the post World War II period, while Art recovered from back surgery. They also have wonderful memories of the years when they lived in the Village of Plain, and Art worked in the locker. In 1971 Art and Regina along with their son Dan embarked on a retirement dream of having a bar. They renovated the barn that they milked cows in for more than 20 years into a bar and restaurant - "The Ridge Club" which they operated for 30 years. Many good memories of parties, weddings and friends were made during those years.

The last six years of her life were spent at Greenway Manor Nursing Home in Spring Green after a spinal cord injury due to osteoporosis. She drove and lived at home until she was 91 and entered the nursing home. Here Regina continued to be very alert and full of life. She enjoyed reading her daily newspaper and many magazines, spending time with friends and relatives, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed having cookies and coffee in her room.

Regina had a deep faith, and prayed her rosary daily and attended Mass on Wednesdays with Father Mike. She had a very keen wit and sense of humor - enjoyed by the people who surrounded her. Her warmth and kindness touched many people. She will be missed by relatives, friends, family and Greenway staff and residents - and all who knew her.

Survivors include six children, Arlene (John) Anderson of Waunakee, Ed (Lois) Nachreiner of Eugene, Mo., Joey (Ron) Snyder of Reedsburg, Jeff (Kathryn) Nachreiner of Plain, Tom Nachreiner (Jenny) of Yorba Linda, Calif., and Lt. Col. Mary Nachreiner of Pope Air Force Base/Southern Pines, N.C; 21 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Helen Hess of Tomah, and Mary Beck of Middleton.

Preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Nachreiner; sons, Ted and Dan Nachreiner; and eight siblings.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010, from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at RICHARDSON-STAFFORD FUNERAL HOME, Spring Green. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Sunday, May 16, 2010, at 1 p.m. preceded by a visitation from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. at ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, LORETO. Father Mike Resop and Father Larry Bowens will concelebrate Mass and burial in the church cemetery.
