She was born on January 28, 1927 in the Town of Washington, Sauk County, the daughter of Kenneth and Alice (Schlueter) Phillips. Helen was a graduate of Lime Ridge High School, Sauk County Teachers College and the University of Wisconsin – Platteville. On June 29, 1946, she was united in marriage to Norbert Rose. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1990. She later married Clarence Giese on August 29, 1992. He died on February 3, 2001. Helen was a teacher in the Weston School District for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Reedsburg.



Survivors include her three children: Ken (Joan) Rose, of Rock Springs; Karen Stittleburg, of Spring Green and Doug (Patricia) Rose, of Waunakee; her stepson: Paul Giese, of Burlington; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Dolora Brewer and Jeanette Rose; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands; son-in-law: Jim Stittleburg; stepson: Bruce Giese and four brothers: Clinton Phillips, Donald (Gloria) Phillips, Harley Phillips and Leslie Phillips.



Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 5, 2021 at the United Methodist Church in Reedsburg with Pastor Vicki Brantmeyer officiating. Inurnment will be held in the Lime Ridge Cemetery at a later date. There will be a visitation from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg and after 10:00 A.M. on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials would be appreciated.

The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family.
