Helen E. Phillips died on 27 October 2021 at age 94 Helen E. Rose Giese, age 94, of Reedsburg, died on Wednesday morning, October 27, 2021 at Greenway Manor in Spring Green. She was born on January 28, 1927 in the Town of Washington, Sauk County, the daughter of Kenneth and Alice (Schlueter) Phillips. Helen was a graduate of Lime Ridge High School, Sauk County Teachers College and the University of Wisconsin – Platteville. On June 29, 1946, she was united in marriage to Norbert Rose. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1990. She later married Clarence Giese on August 29, 1992. He died on February 3, 2001. Helen was a teacher in the Weston School District for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Reedsburg.

Survivors include her three children: Ken (Joan) Rose, of Rock Springs; Karen Stittleburg, of Spring Green and Doug (Patricia) Rose, of Waunakee; her stepson: Paul Giese, of Burlington; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Dolora Brewer and Jeanette Rose; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands; son-in-law: Jim Stittleburg; stepson: Bruce Giese and four brothers: Clinton Phillips, Donald (Gloria) Phillips, Harley Phillips and Leslie Phillips.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 5, 2021 at the United Methodist Church in Reedsburg with Pastor Vicki Brantmeyer officiating. Inurnment will be held in the Lime Ridge Cemetery at a later date. There will be a visitation from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg and after 10:00 A.M. on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials would be appreciated.

The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family.

In July 1942 at Wisconsin Kenneth and Helen Kasparie were visiting his sister and brother-in-law, Lillian and Alvin Breitzke. The Kasparies were accompanied back to Quincy by their nieces, the Misses Allene and Dolores Breitzke.

In July 1949 Mr and Mrs Alvin Breitzke, 1431 Morrison st, Mrs Evelyn Myers, 150 Division st, and Mrs Bertha Mercer, Spring Green, returned recently after a month's vacation trip through the West. Leaving by the northern route they visited the Bad lands and Black hills, Yellowstone National park, Salt Lake City, and Reno before reaching California where they visited Mrs Breitzke's brother and sister-in-law, Mr and Mrs E G Kasparie, Monrovia. Yosemite National park, the Red Woods, TiaJuana, the Grand canyon and the Petrified forest were included in the trip. In Denver, Colo., they spent a week with Mrs Breitzke's brother and sister-in-law, Dr and Mrs L A Kasparie.
