Dieter, age 98, of Muscoda, died at the Riverside Healthcare in Muscoda on Sunday, February 18, 2007, and will receive a Christian Burial with the Hope of Eternal Resurrection. He was born in Boaz, Wis., on Feb. 6, 1909, to Paul and Elizabeth (Hinkel) Dieter. On June 4, 1930, he married the former Marquerite Thiede and together they farmed in Orion Township, Indian Creek area of Richland County from 1930 to 1962. Lloyd worked for Krouskop's Lumber yard in Muscoda from 1962-1976. In 1995, they moved to Muscoda. He enjoyed traveling, working in his wood shop and watching baseball on TV. Lloyd was a life member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Muscoda and served on the Church Council and treasurer. He was very instrumental in the construction of the new church in 1954 to 1956. Survivors include his two sons, Wayne (Betty) Dieter of Muscoda, and Donald (Frances) Dieter of Viroqua; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson; sister-in-law, Arlie Dieter; brother-in-law, Kenneth (Millie) Thiede; and several nieces and nephews. Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife on August 19, 1998; his parents; and two sisters and brothers-in-laws, Vera and Herman Huth, Ed Allen, Alma and Theron Moon; a brother, Leland; brothers-in-laws and wives, Clarence and Emma Thiede, Bernard and Dorothy Thiede; daughter, Ruth Jones; granddaughter, Michelle Bomkamp; grandson, Gordon Jones. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007, at ST. PETER'S LUTHERAN CHURCH in Muscoda. The Rev. Mark R. Meier Sr. will officiate with burial in the Muscoda Cemetery. Friends may call at the GODAGER FUNERAL HOME in Muscoda, on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. or at the church on Thursday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the services. The family has suggested that memorials may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church. The Godager Funeral Home is assisting the family with their arrangements. Michael is survived by his wife, Marci Ryan of Buena Vista, Colo; his children, Jessica Ryan of Boulder, Colo., and Alex Ryan of Buena Vista, Colo; his sisters, Jackie (Jack) Weier of Dodgeville, Carolyn (Brad) Olson of Dodgeville, and Mary (Jeff) Husom of Ridgeway; his brothers, Tom (Sharon) Ryan of Argyle, and Jim (Lisa) Ryan of Shakopee, Minn; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Pat Ryan; and a nephew, Tim Weier. Private family services will be held at a later date.
