Cady and their marriage was blessed with four children. Helen wrote many articles for the Reedsburg Times Press, was a member of the Cross Plains American Legion Auxiliary Post 245. She volunteered at the Reedsburg Area Medical Center, St. Vincent’s and Voting locations. She was a life-time member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Loreto, WI and was nominated one year as their Irish Queen. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wayne on Sept. 5, 1993; step-sons, Chuck Cady and Herb Cady; brothers, Joe (Alice) Volk, James (Norma) Volk, Martin (Genevieve) Volk; Sisters, Teresa (Harold) Weitzel and Mary (Bernard) Cummings.

Helen is survived by her children: Charles (Barbara) Cady, Dan (Pat) Cady, Cathy (Erv) Peters, Jan Cady (Dave Doman).

Grandchildren: Susan (Kurt) Kavajecz, Jill (Guy) Amoth, Matt (Pam) Cady, Jeff (Nicole) Cady, Mike (Sarah) Cady, Renee (Dan) Anthony, Nichole Cady, Michelle (Ethan) Kister, Robert (Gail Corbin) Peters, Emily (Bill) Hedrick, Brandon Schrank, Kaitlin Schrank.

Marie was born October 28, 1918 in Marshfield, WI to David E. and Margaret (Mears) Woodruff. She married James E. Dederich on September 1, 1955 in Milwaukee, WI. He died December 10, 1982. Marie was a phone operator, then a bookkeeper for Woodruff Lumber in Vesper, WI and later was treasurer for both the Village of Vesper and the Vesper Water & Sewer Utility. For many years Marie also served as a news correspondent for the Pittsville Record.

Marie was a member of Catholic Daughters of America, the Vesper Lions Club and was a lifetime member of St. James Catholic Church in Vesper, WI. Marie enjoyed playing the piano and was a gifted piano player.

Marie is survived by two sons- Patrick Dederich of Vesper, WI and Dennis (Robin) Dederich of Vesper, WI; and two grandchildren, Paul (Chelsea) Dederich of Vesper, WI and Jennifer Dederich of Woburn, MA.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; and brother, David D. Woodruff.

She was united in marriage to Vincent Faber on December 1, 1943, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Loreto.

Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, doing crossword puzzles, and especially playing solitaire until the end. She had been a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 1916; as well as a longtime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Baraboo.

Dorothy is survived by:her daughter, Mary (John) Jones of Fort Atkinson; three grandsons, John (Monica), Steven (Kim), and Brad (Tessie) Jones; and eight great-grandchildren, Lexie, Maddie, Trevor, Andrew, Amelia, Evan, Nickoletta, and Dionisia. She is further survived by:nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Arthur Mullaley and Johanna Mullaley, nee Mears; her husband, Vincent Faber; and siblings, Donald Mullaley and Mary Drescher.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 18, 2015, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Baraboo with Father Garrett Kau officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow services at the St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Loreto.

In April 1995 Kate married longtime friend Fred Thomas, a marriage that lasted for 7 years until Fred's untimely death in Florida

Kate's love of faith in the Catholic church was always first in her life, and probably is the main reason for her great life of 103 years. Kate always enjoyed her family reunions and parties, whether it was the Mousseau's, Verberkmoes,'s, or Thomas families. Kate had hobbies over the years that included sewing, quilting, and baking. Kate loved doing some different projects like making Christmas wreathes out of IBM cards to her semi- famous beer can hats. She also really enjoyed taking side trips with her 2 granddaughter's Jayme and Katey, to Milwaukee and riding the city bus downtown. Kate was employed as a receptionist at St. Mary's Hospital laboratory and at Meriter Hospital Cardiac unit.

She is survived by her son Tim (Mary) Verberkmoes (Madison), her daughter Ann (Larry) Offerdahl (Middleton). granddaughters Jayme (James) Strasburg (Jefferson), and Katey (Gavin) Gigstead (Omaha), seven great grandchildren Stepdaughters Susan (Dick) Straus (Waunakee), Nancy Olson (Florida), and several nieces and nephews.

Kate was preceded in death by her parents; husbands (Bud Verberkmoes and Fred Thomas), 5 sisters, and one brother.

Death29 March 2018Mary Veronica Mousseau died on 29 March 2018 at Dane, Wisconsin, at age 97 Mary Veronica Ward, age 97, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2018. She was born on July 9, 1920, to Joseph and Mary (Walsh) Mousseau in the Loreto Ridge. Mary graduated in 1938 from Spring Green High School. She moved to Madison in 1939 and worked at the Dutch Maid Ice Cream Stores and later for Rennebohm Drug Stores and MacNeil & Moore. Mary’s first job at the State of Wisconsin was at the old Children’s Hospital. She retired as a Clinic Receptionist at the new UW Hospital in 1983. After her retirement Mary’s favorite “job” (though she wouldn’t call it that) was providing daycare for Pete, Tim and Anna, the children of her dear friends, Barb and Matt Uselman, who remained close to her until her death. Mary loved to garden. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines Singers, and St. Bernard Catholic Church in Madison. Another favorite activity was ballroom dancing with her companion of many years, Bob Huebel.

Mary is survived by her sons, Aden Ward (Kay) of Watertown, Wis., James Ward (Luan Meredith) of St. Louis, Mo., and her daughters, Roberta Ward (George Eslinger) of Waunakee, Wis., and Mary L. Ward (David Taylor) of Madison. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer Ward, Melissa Ward-Visuri, and Jason Ward, and great-granddaughters, Nadia and Cecilia Fenstermaker, and Madeline Visuri. In addition, Mary leaves behind her sister, Catherine Thomas, of Middleton, Wis.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Alice Volk, Fran Jennings, Rita LaBarre, Leo Mousseau, Pat Ring, and grandson, Benjamin Ward.

She was born on May 21, 1923 in rural Plain, WI, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Walsh) Mousseau. Rita married LeRoy LaBarre on June 21, 1947 at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Middleton. She graduated from Spring Green High School, Madison Business College and U.W. Madison extension with a Librarian certificate. She worked as a typesetter at the Independent Register in Brodhead for 17 years. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Brodhead, Catholic Women's organization, past Secretary and President of St. Rose Catholic Women; past Secretary of Rock Deanery. Rita was an ardent supporter of Wisconsin Right to Life and Family Rosary. She enjoyed needlework, cross stitching, reading, walking, volunteering, a variety of music, and she enjoyed watching the butterflies. She is survived by 6 children; 19 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters; brother-in-law; sister-in-law; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Alice Volk and Frances Jennings; a brother Joseph Mousseau. Everson Funeral Home, Brodhead.

Death6 June 2004LeRoy Thomas LaBarre died on 6 June 2004 at age 79 LeRoy "Bud" LaBarre, age 79, of Brodhead, passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2004, at his home, with his family. He was born on Oct. 17, 1924, in Virginia, Minn., the son of Andrew and Olivia (Iverson) LaBarre. He married Rita Mousseau on June 21, 1947, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Middleton. LeRoy enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1943 and served from 1943 until 1945 as a staff sergeant-rifle squad leader in the Blackhawk 86th Infantry Division. Bud was wounded in Germany and was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star, highlighting his distinguished military service. After being honorably discharged, Bud worked for General Telephone Company. Later, he became a partner and then VP of J.D. Kratz Company, Footville, until 1982 when he retired and took up his passion with small aircraft and building his own Hatz Bi-plane. He is survived by his wife, Rita; six children, Kathy LaBarre, Janesville, Paul (Laurie) LaBarre, Bob LaBarre and Jean (Fritz) Schultz, all of Brodhead, John (Linda) LaBarre, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Andrea (David) White, Albuquerque, N.M; five brothers, Kenneth (Ruth) Hanson, Posen, Ill., Jack (Sandy) LaBarre, Mount Iron, Minn., Arthur and Albert Disrud, South Beloit, Ill., and Raymond (Louise) LaBarre, Ala., a sister, Lucille Wood, South Beloit, Ill; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Carl Disrud. A Mass of Christian Burial will he be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2004, at ST. ROSE OF LIMA CATHOLIC CHURCH, Brodhead, with Father Donn Heiar presiding. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead, with military services. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Brodhead.
