She enjoyed traveling with Oscar and spending time with family. We will miss mom's quiet courage, her generous spirit, her beautiful bright blue eyes, her warm smile and her loving heart. She cared for dad and all of us, without complaining, never too tired to give us comfort. May she be at peace now. Alvira is survived by her ten children, Roger (Pat) Hooverson of Deforest, Gary (Susie) Hooverson of Prairie du Sac, Barb (Dick) Nagel of Marshall, Bev (Jim) Zimmerman of Madison, Arden (Shirley) Hooverson of Madison, Bonnie Fagan of Madison, Anita (Mark) Grote of Marshall, Jim Hooverson of Rio, Judy (Mike Lackey) Hooverson of Sun Prairie, and Ron Hooverson of Aurora Col. She is further survived by 24 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald and Delbert Christianson; and a sister, Harriet. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006, at 7 p.m. at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, in Sauk City. Larry Collins will officiate. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will take place on Wednesday at North Kickapoo Cemetery, Franklin Township in Vernon County. Alvira's family would like to thank the wonderful staff at St. Mary's Care Center and Nurse Practioner, Terry Patwell for their special care of Alvira. He was a union carpenter and worked for Erv and Tony Schmudlach for 30 years, retiring in 1978. Vincent was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, and a past member of Wisconsin Carpenter's Union and the Eagles. He is survived by two sons, Lee (Ann) Virnig of Oregon and Dennis Virnig of Madison; grandchildren, Emily, Samantha, Jason, Amanda and Katie; and sisters, Louise Nagel and Agnes Payne. Vincent was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen; his parents; and brothers, Adrian, Martin and Gregory. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. ANN'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 323 N. Van Buren St., Stoughton, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, with Monsignor Gerard Healy and Father William Connell of Holy Mother of Consolation, Oregon, presiding. Private burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
