He was born Nov. 25, 1919 to Fred and Sarah Rempp in Yankton County, was baptized in the Lutheran faith, attended rural schools, grew up on the farm and later worked for a farmer, cattle feeder. He served in the Army during World War II as a tank driver in the 702nd Tank Destroyer Battalion.
On June 1, 1946, he married Frances Collett at the Gayville Methodist Church. He was a member of that church and later transferred to the Irene Methodist Church. They farmed in the Irene area and moved to Irene in 1971. He worked for International Harvestor in Yankton for eight years and worked at South Dakota Human Service Center in building maintenance until retirement in 1991. Since retirement he enjoyed woodworking, creating limbcraft items and working at the Village Floral Greenhouse in Irene.
He is survived by his wife, Frances, three daughters and three very special sons-in-law, Carolyn and James Larsen, Yankton, Berniece and Leon Hansen, Irene, and Brenda and Douglas Mellegard, Viborg; three grandsons, Barrie, Dallas and Jason, and three granddaughters, Jennifer, Tracy and Dana; a sister Marjorie (Mrs. George Sykora), Yankton, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, one sister and a granddaughter.
Visitation was Friday, Dec. 4, from 2 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Hansen Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 5, at 10:30 a.m. at the Hansen Funeral Home, Irene. Military rites were conducted by the Hall-Thompson Post #193 with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery, Irene.

Local services will be Saturday, July 14, in the Fellowship Hall in Kalona United Methodist Church. The family will greet visitors from 10-11 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m.
Born August 20, 1947 in Yankton, she was the daughter of Allen "Barney" and Frances (Collett) Rempp. She lived and attended school in Gayville until the family moved to rural Irene, South Dakota. She graduated from Irene High School in 1965.
She was united in marriage to James Larsen June 1, 1968. Mrs. Larsen worked for Freeman Manufacturing and Dale Electronics. She was a daycare provider for several years and then worked for the Press and Dakotan.
In 1978, Mrs. Larsen began her employment with the State of South Dakota in the Clerk of Courts Office. She worked as a deputy clerk of courts of 19 years. She became the Clerk of Court Magistrate in 1997 and remained in that position until October 2006 when she retired due to health concerns.
Mrs. Larsen served on numerous committees while working in the court system. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, serving as a Sunday school teacher and on various church boards. She was a member of the Interchange, Abate and Red Hat Association.
She enjoyed shopping, cooking, ceramics, Elvis memorabilia collecting, attending plays, camping, gardening, volleyball, golf and taking motorcycle trips with her husband.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Larsen of Yankton; a son, Barrie and wife Tona Larsen of Yankton; a daughter, Jennifer and husband Anthony Kos of Riverside; five grandchildren, Ryker Larsen, Joey Nickles and Brianna Nickles, all of Yankton, and Ethan and Landon Kos of Riverside; her mother, Frances Rempp of Irene; two sisters, Bernice and husband Leon Hansen of Irene and Brenda and husband Doug Mellegard of Viborg, South Dakota; a sister-in-law, Virginia Bakke of Irene and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; her grandparents, Sherman and Bernice Collett and Fred and Sarah Rempp; and a brother-in-law, Sanden Bakke.

Marjorie Phyllis was born on January 30, 1929, to Fred and Sarah (Allen) Rempp in Mission Hill, S.D., and later graduated from Irene High School in 1947. She was united in marriage to George Sykora on February 28, 1948, in Geddes, SD. Marjorie was baptized and confirmed in 1949 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Tabor, S.D. She worked over 18 years at the Human Services Center in Yankton and was a member of the Ernest Bowyer VFW Post 791 Ladies Auxiliary, Yankton.

Marjorie’s memory will be cherished by her loving and loyal daughter, Shirley Ann (Ivan) Kirgan of Frisco, TX, and many supportive nieces and nephews, especially Brenda and Doug Mellegard of Viborg, S.D.

She was preceded in death by her husband George, parents, one sister and six brothers.

Elmira was a loving wife devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She was a long- time resident in the community of Irene.
Elmira (Pat) was born on March 5th, 1927, to Henry and Emma (Ermels) Jensen of Bloomfield, NE. She grew up in the Bloomfield, Crofton, NE area where she attended grade school at Pleasant Valley Country School and attended High School in Crofton. After high school, Elmira moved to Yankton, SD and worked at a local radio station.
Elmira (Pat) married Glenn Rempp on June 15th, 1947 in Yankton, SD. They lived and farmed in the Marindahl area, now known as the "Broom Tree Farm." They moved to Irene in 1974.
Elmira (Pat) worked as a farm wife for many years and later was employed at the Human Services Center for 17 years. Elmira (Pat) was also employed at Dakota Cooperative, the Wakonda Heritage Manor Nursing Home and worked with elderly home health care.
On May 6th 1978, Elmira (Pat) was remarried to Norbert Pesicka. Her time was filled with her many hobbies, cooking, baking, crocheting & gardening. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play baseball & other sporting events.
Elmira (Pat) was an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Irene, Trondhjem Lutheran Church, Volin, WELCA circle group, also a long time member of the moose lodge, Yankton.
She is survived by her husband, Norbert of Irene; five children: Gerald (Shirley) Rempp of Yankton, Joyce (Todd) Schwader of Sioux Falls, Daniel (Teresa) Rempp of Irene, Donald Rempp of Irene and Carla Rempp of Watsonville, CA. She is also survived by 8 grandsons: Bobby, Joey, Lesley, Christopher, Nicholas, Adam, Jeremy, Matthew; and one granddaughter, Jill. Also surviving are three sisters; Helen (Cyrus) Mischke, Crofton, Lucille Brown, Colony, TX, Gladys (Dennis) Cooper, Sioux City, IA, and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; parents, Henry and Emma Jensen; sister, Evelyn Lind; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at Calvary Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery at Irene.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, June 5 at the Hansen Funeral Home, with a prayer service beginning at 7 p.m. Family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.

Florence Sorensen was born on September 25, 1915 in Yankton County to Hans and Annie Sorensen. She married Marvin Rempp in Yankton on June 17, 1935. The couple moved to McCook County in 1954 and farmed in the Montrose/Canistota area until 1974. Florence worked at the Good Samaritan Home in Canistota for many years.

Florence was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Canistota. She loved crocheting, gardening and flowers, playing cards, baking and cooking and especially enjoyed holidays with her family.

Florence is survived by: her grandchildren, Lori (Charles) McDowell of Madison and Mary Montgomery (Dell Thomas), of Marion; great-grandchildren, Heather Marshall (Trevor Gullikson) of Elkton, Jason Johnson of Madison, Melanie (Greg) Meyer of Madison, Krystal (Scott) Hofer of Bridgewater; Bradley Holderby of Parker, Rachael Nichols of Parkston, Nicholas Montgomery of Parker and Brianna Montgomery of Brookings; great-great-grandchildren, Casey, Jesse, Brooke, Mandy, Mason, Landon, Kylie, Lyllian, Mathew, Kailyn and Maddox; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Marvin, daughter, LaFaye, grandson, Marvin, and several brothers and sisters.

Norbert was born October 31, 1932 to Joseph and Agnes (Melmer) Pesicka in Lake Andes, SD. He grew up in the Lake Andes area and graduated from High school in 1950.
He worked at the Human Services Center in Yankton, SD where he met Elmira (Pat) Rempp. They were united in marriage on May 6, 1978 in Yankton. His hobbies were lawn care and watching sports. His favorite teams were the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and the New York Yankees. He also attended many Irene Baseball games. Norbert retired in 1989.
Norbert is survived by his step-children; Gerald (Shirley) Rempp of Yankton, Joyce (Todd) Schwader of Sioux Falls, SD, Dan (Teresa) Rempp of Irene, Don Rempp of Irene, also nine step-grandchildren and nine step- great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Elmira (Pat), and step-daughter Carla Rempp also brother Alvin and sister-in-law Joyce Pesicka.
