She was born on July 22, 1920 in Plain, the daughter of Rudolph and Rose (Heiser) Nachreiner. She married Frank Brei on July 12, 1939. At that time they bought the Brei family farm. She continued to own and live on the farm until 2015. Frieda loved dairy farming, working in her garden and was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church. Survivors include her 3 daughters, Roseann (Tom) Otter of Waunakee, Alice (David) Alt of Spring Green, Bonnie Brei of Plain, and daughter-in-law Paula Brei of Sauk City, 13 grandchildren Tom, Anne, and Dan (Patricia) Otter, Lori (Ken) Cathman, John Brei, Cindy (Mike) Nelson, Vicki (Brian) Berning, Jolynn Brei, Greg (Tami) Alt, Jackie (John) Jewell, Mark (Lori) Alt, Tim Alt, and Shelly (Tim) Herritz,12 great-grandchildren and, a sister-in-law Evelyn Nachreiner. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Brei, parents Rudolph and Rose Nachreiner, sons Frankie and John, a grandson Kevin Brei, a great-grandson Greg Cathman, brothers Harry and Jerome Nachreiner, and sisters Rosie Radel, and Florence Bladl. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Plain. Fr. Mike Resop will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the church from 5:00 PM-7:00PM. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Mass. The Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
