Hess, age 68 of Cazenovia, died peacefully after a lengthy illness on Saturday, Sept.20, 2008, at St. Joseph' s Hospital, Marshfield. He was born on March 12, 1940, in Richland Center, the son of Raymond A. and Helen (Weitzel) Hess. He was the third generation owner and operator of Hess's Hardware Store in Cazenovia for over 50 years. He is rememberedfor his outgoing, friendly, warm personality who was always smiling. Raymond is survived by his mother, Helen of Cazenovia; his brother, Richard (Dianne) Hess of Waunakee; his sister, Karen (Daniel) Breininger of Tomah; nieces, nephews along with other relatives friends. He was preceded in death by his father. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, at 2 p.m. at ST. ANTHONY' S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Cazenovia. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.at the CAZENOVIA CHAPEL in Cazenovia. The Farber Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
