He was born March 8, 1921 in the Town of Westfield, the son of Ludwig and Emma Roewer Harms. He was married to Delores Luetkens at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Loganville, on June 9, 1950.

"Bill" had a love for the earth, the soil of the earth, the land he farmed for so many years and the times he spent hunting and fishing. He enjoyed serving the Lord, his church home at St. John's Lutheran in Loganville and taking care of the church cemetery for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; and his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Gilbert Muchow, Norbert Luetkens, Vera Mae and Orville Hahn.

He is survived by his wife, Delores Harms of Reedsburg; his children, Kathy (John) Reuter of Reedsburg and Marie (Kevin) Holman of Texas; five grandchildren, Ryan, Renee and Russell Reuter, Sara (David) Holman-Nash and Laura (Mark) Douglas; one great-granddaughter, Masina; his sister and brothers, Arleda Muchow of Reedsburg, Jerome (Rita) Harms of Reedsburg and Arend (Marcella) Harms of Reedsburg; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Vernice and Donald Schultz of Reedsburg and Marlene and Marty Koenecke of Reedsburg; many nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Loganville, with Pastor Paul Crolius officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Westfield Township. Visitation will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg.

Memorials of remembrance may be made to St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Loganville, or to the Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center.

On June 2, 1950, she was married to Gilbert R. Muchow. Arleda was a faithful member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Loganville where she was active in the church choir, the quilting group and the Ladies Aid. She was a Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed baking, fishing, attending her grandchildren's sporting events and volunteering at the Reedsburg Area Medical Center. She also had beautiful flower gardens and was an excellent seamstress.

Survivors include her three children, Karen (Rollie) Schultz of Verona, Charles (Lauri) Muchow of Loganville, and Diane (Dale) Fish of Reedsburg; six grandchildren, Angela (Adam) Hanson, Charli Muchow, Chelsey Muchow, and her finace, Matt Rockweiler, Lucas Muchow, Jodi (Mike) McCarville and Jared Fish; three great-grandchildren, Brooks and Emmett Hanson, and Jaxson McCarville; two brothers, Jerome (Rita) Harms and Arend (Marcella) Harms, both of Reedsburg; four sisters-in-law, Delores Harms of Reedsburg, Elva Gluth of Loganville, Estella Muchow of Hillpoint, and Myrtle Muchow of Reedsburg; a brother-in-law, Melvin Brandt of Baraboo; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilly, on Jan. 17, 2011; her brother, Wilbert Harms; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2015, at ST. PETER'S LUTHERAN CHURCH in Loganville, with Pastor Donald Glanzer officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the HOOF FUNERAL HOME in Reedsburg, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Peter's Lutheran Church would be appreciated.

We were graced with his presence on March 15, 1926 in the Town of Westfield, Sauk County the son of Louie and Emma (Roewer) Harms. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army. Jug was united in marriage to his best friend, partner and Love of his Life, Rita Rose Howard on June 30, 1956. He was employed with Gerber Corporation for many years until his retirement and was an active and lifelong member of the St John Lutheran Church in Loganville where his gift of singing was shared and inspired with joy and love. Blueberry Lake was a special place where he spent most of his summers fishing, golfing and enjoying the wonders of the northern woods. Jug will always be remembered for his gentle kind heart, his graceful moves across the dance floor and his willingness to bless us with a song. He is survived by his wife: Rita Harms; his dearest brother: Arend, and his wife, Marcella; sisters in-law: Delores Harms, Mary Douglas, Bessie Kraemer, Jessie Conlin, Cecelia Gruber, Mary Jane Howard and Patricia Schaefer; his brother-in-law; Donald Schaefer along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Wilbert; sister: Arleda Muchow and brother in-law: Gilbert Muchow along with many other sisters and brothers in-law, nieces and nephews who all shaped and shared in the colorful memories of Jug's Life. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at St. John Lutheran Church in Loganville with Pastor Tim Anderson officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Reedsburg where military honors will be conducted by the Reedsburg Area Veterans Honor Guard. There will be a visitation from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg and after 10:00 A.M. on Thursday at the church. A luncheon will follow the committal service at the Voyageur Inn. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John Lutheran Church would be appreciated. The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family.

Lutheran Church in Loganville. This marriage was blessed with two daughters.

Tootie was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Loganville and active in many church activities that included LWML, Ladies Aide, and the church ice cream social committee. She enjoyed going to the LWML conferences at Green Lake, WI with her sisters and friends from church. She always maintained a vegetable garden for canning large quantities of produce on the farm. She enjoyed fishing and traveling after retiring from the farm including two trips to Germany. Tootie was a sports enthusiast, particularly following the Cubs and the Brewers. This love of baseball came from her years as a “lefty” pitcher for her local softball team.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert W. “Bill” Harms on January 22, 2011; an infant son; her parents; grandson-in-law, Marc Douglas; brother, Norbert Luetkens; sister and brother-in-law, Vera Mae and Orville Hahn; sister, Marlene Koenecke; in-law’s, Arleda and Gilbert Muchow, and Jerome and Rita Harms.

She is survived by her daughters: Kathy (John) Reuter of Reedsburg and Marie (Kevin) Holman of Texas; grandchildren: Ryan (Miranda) Reuter, Renee Reuter, and Russell (Käthe) Reuter, Sara (David) Nash, and Laura Douglas; great-granddaughters, Masina, Anna, Ellis and Avery; great-grandsons, David Dean, Broxton and Maxwell; sister and brother-in-law, Vernice and Don Schultz; in-law’s: Arend and Marcella Harms, and Marty Koenecke; along with many other relatives and friends.

A funeral service for Delores Harms will be conducted at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Loganville with Pastor Tim Anderson officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow the service in St. John’s Cemetery, Westfield Township.
