Viola was born May 1, 1906, in Wynot Nebraska, to John and Rose (Schulte) Hochstein. She grew up in the Wynot area and married Raymond Lammers June 26, 1928 at Wynot. They farmed near Fordyce until 1976 when they moved into Fordyce. Raymond died March 30, 1977, at the age of 75. She lived at Pine Lane Assisted Living in Yankton from 1998 to 2003. In December of 2003, she entered Beverly Healthcare in Hartington.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Guild, Catholic Daughters of America, Christian Mothers and the Solitaires. She loved roses, traveling and sewing. She loved to visit people in nursing homes.
Viola is survived by a son, Marcel Lammers, and his wife Alice of Pincher Creek, Alberta Canada; a daughter, Phyllis Thoene, and her husband Marcus, Fordyce; 2 daughters-in-law: Jeanette Lammers, Hartington, and Jean Marie Lammers, Hartington; 20 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a brother and his wife, Donald and Elaine Hochstein, Hartington; 3 sisters and their husbands: Delores Abbott, Redmond, Oregon; Freida and Don Hoss, LeMars, Iowa; and Mary Louise and Ralph Wieseler, St. Helena.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 3 sons: John, Donavon and Thomas Lammers; 3 sisters: Sister Rose Jean Hochstein, Rosine Pinkelman and Ruth Huennekens; 5 brothers: Lawrence, Reynold, Gilbert, John Jr. and Fritz Hochstein; 1 grandson, Maurice Thoene; 2 great-grandsons, John Lammers and Curtis Domina.

Elaine Helen Mary was born at home in St. James, Nebraska on February 23, 1934 to of Florenz & Veronica (Lammers) Burbach. She graduated from Holy Trinity High School in May of 1952. Elaine married Donald Hochstein on June 2, 1953 at St. James. She and Don lived in Laurel from 1954-1960 before returning to the home farm northwest of Wynot. Elaine sold Avon beauty products for 35 years. As a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Wynot, Elaine was an active member of the Sacred Heart Altar Society, arranged the altar flowers, and taught 2nd grade religion for many years. They retired in Hartington in November of 1992. Elaine was a member of the Holy Trinity Guild, Catholic Daughters of America, Christian Mothers, Ministry of Praise and Perpetual Adoration. She moved to Park View Haven in Coleridge in January of 2010.

Elaine is survived by her husband Don, Coleridge. member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Choir in Wynot. He joined the Knights of Columbus in 1928 and was Grand Knight in 1955. He had been a resident of Park View Haven Nursing Home since July 1999. Hulda was born on March 26, 1906, to Peter and Ida (Kathol) Hochstein in Bow Valley, Nebraska. She grew up in the Bow Valley area and lived there until her marriage to Frank J. Becker on June 9, 1925 in Bow Valley, Neb. She and Frank lived and farmed in the Hartington area until they retired from the farm in 1973. They moved into Hartington in 1978. Frank died on January 2, 1981 at the age of 78. Hulda had been living with her daughter Jolene Leise since December of 2001.
Hulda belonged to the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and Christian Mothers. She loved to garden and crochet.
Survivors include five children and spouses: Roman (Bud) and Esther Becker, Hartington, Neb; Jolene and Harold Leise, Hartington, Neb; Alice and Marcel Lammers, Pinchel Creek, Alberta, Canada; Marcel and Denelda Becker, Hartington, Neb; and Kenneth and Sheree Becker, Hartington, Neb; 37 grandchildren, 87 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren; one sister: Erna Arens, Hartington, Neb; three brothers: Emery Hochstein, Hartington, Neb; Adrian Hochstein, Hartington, Neb; Merlin and wife Delores Hochstein, Wynot, Neb.
She was preceded by her parents; husband; two daughters, infant Della Velma Becker, LaVerne Pick; one son, David Becker; two grandsons: Steve Becker and Gary Pick; one great-granddaughter, Elli Leise; one great-grandson, Brian Pick; seven brothers; two sisters.

Arthur died June 5, 1996, at the age of 84. Erna enjoyed gardening, crocheting, cooking, baking and especially playing cards. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Hartington with military honors provided by the Hartington VFW Post 5283. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 3:00 p.m. at the church. Visitation will begin one hour prior to services on Monday at the church. The Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Sam Hochstein, Reggie Hochstein, Corey Hochstein, Kevin Arkfeld, Ben Hochstein and Taylor Chonis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ron and Connie Arens, Jeff Arens, Jean and Mary Hochstein, Roman Keiter, Gus Pick, Denelda Becker, Norman and Delores Sudbeck and Roman and Arlene Arens. Emery was born on December 19, 1921 at Bow Valley, Nebraska to Peter and Ida (Kathol) Hochstein. He grew up in the Bow Valley area and attended District 13 School. He served in the U.S. Army from June 24, 1942 to December 18, 1943. Emery married Lorraine V. Sudbeck on December 27, 1944 at Bow Valley. They farmed northwest of Hartington until moving to their home north of Hartington in 1976. Emery loved the farm and continued to be active in farming and buying and selling cattle until his death. He also sold Super Cross Seed corn for about 10 years. He enjoyed talking politics and playing cards. Emery could talk to anyone as he had the gift of gab. He was a lifelong New York Yankee fan and attended 3 Super Bowls to watch his grandson, Russ Hochstein, play. Emery was the last one of the Pete Hochstein family of 13 to die. Emery was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and had a Perpetual Hour of Adoration for many years. His faith and praying the rosary was very important to him. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a former member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and the NFO. Emery is survived by 6 children and their spouses; Jim and Sue Hochstein, Ken and Carol Hochstein, Gayle and Barb Hochstein all of Hartington; Carolyn and Jerry Arkfeld of Omaha; Michael “Mick” and Nancy Hochstein of Hartington; Kristi and Steve Chonis of Kansas City, Missouri; 26 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, 2 sisters-in-law, Wilma Hochstein of Lincoln, Nebraska and Dolores Hochstein of Wynot, Nebraska. Adrian was born on April 6, 1920, at Wynot, NE, to Peter and Ida (Kathol) Hochstein. He grew up in the Bow Valley area and lived in the Bow Valley and Wynot areas all of his life where he farmed. Later on, he also worked construction with his brother, Elmer. He has been a resident of Beverly Healthcare in Hartington since 2000. He loved to tell stories and make people laugh. He was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Bow Valley.

Survivors include 1 sister, Erna Arens, Hartington; 2 brothers: Emery Hochstein, Hartington, and Merlin and his wife, Delores Hochstein, Wynot, NE; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters: Dorothy Feilmeier and Blanche Arens; 7 brothers: Long, Mark, Stephen, Paul, Alfred, Elmer and an infant, Hubert.
