Survivors include a daughter Shelly; a son Jess both of Chicago, IL; his fiance, Becky Brunker-Fawcett and her son, Troy of Monona; his father, Kenneth of Madison; four brothers, Eugene (Philana) Friede of McFarland, Paul Friede of Madison, Kenneth "Skip" (Pam) Friede of Madison, SD, and Mark (Sherri) Friede of Cottage Grove; four sisters, Deborah (Terry) Wilcox of Cottage Grove, Konoa Friede of Sun Prairie, Kelly (Terry) Friede, and Kimberly (Jamie) Tlugum both of Madison and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Friede. Military rites will be conducted by the Madison Veterans Council Firing Squad.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2001, at 2:00 p.m. at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
