He was born May 8, 1947 in Shell Lake, WI to Alfred and Frances (Rounce) Hooser. David served with the US Army during Vietnam. After his service, David began a long career in accounting, including a long stint as an accountant for the St. Croix Ojibwa Tribal Government. He could always be found on Sunday afternoons in the fall watching Green Bay Packer Football, and supported the team win or lose. He was an amazing talent at the barbecue, and truly thrived the more mouths he had to feed. He is survived by 2 daughters, Rebecca Hooser of Rice Lake and Tina (David) Weaver of Shell Lake; 1 stepson, Preston (Rebecca) Reed of Cameron; 4 grandchildren, Delayna, Neissya, Jeremy and Kortney; 3 brothers, Chuck (Chic) Harrell of Spooner, Jim (Marie) Harrell of Springbrook and Jerry (Char) Hooser of Champlain, MN and many nieces and nephews, including a very special niece, Maureen Kapaun of Shell Lake. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Donald, Richard and Robert Harrell and his sister, Beverly Ward.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, September 1, 2007 at Salem Lutheran Church, Shell Lake, WI with Rev. Laurie Engesser - Rev. Greg Harrell officiating. Burial will be in Shell Lake Cemetery. Pallbearers are Raymond Hooser, Wayne Lindemann, Jeff Harrell, Thomas Gronning, Preston Reed and Don Coleman.

Military Honors will be accorded by the Shell Lake Honor Guard Friends may call from 4:00 - 7:00 PM Friday at the Pockat Funeral Home in Shell Lake, and for 1 hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
