In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by one son: James Robert Hilderbrand on October 7, 1942; 2 brothers; James Robert in 1954 and one infant brother Clydie; 1 sister: Mrs. Maggie Hackler in 1929. He was a retired farmer and operated a service station for about 30 years near Versailles.
Funeral services held at Kidwell Garber Funeral Home with Dr. William Seathoff o fficiating. Mrs. Mike Homan and Mrs. Dean Homan sang. Organ by Mrs. Johnnie Shad. Honorary pallbearers: Earnest Houseworth, Moss McDonald, Bud Blacksten, Norman Thompson, Barney O'Neal and Ray Allee. Active pall bearers: Aubrey Huffman. M.F. "Bud" Ayres, Gene Bartram, Ted Hitchcock, Bert Marshall, Darrell Goodman and Chester Daniels. Interment in the Versailles cemetery.
