He served as a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict.

Milford served on the Weston School Board for many years and also served on the church council at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hillpoint.

He was a lifelong dairy farmer in Washington Township, Sauk County, receiving many dairy awards for quality and production during his farming career. He retired from farming in 2005. After retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Caroline; six children: Donald (Deanna) McCauley, of Reedsburg; Judy (Gerald) Powell, of Wales; Karen (Rick) Fairbrother, of Richland Center; Dennis (Cindy) McCauley, of Hillpoint; Diane (Greg) Goetsch, of Wausau and Dan (Natalie) McCauley, of Hillpoint; eight grandchildren: Amy, Melissa, Bonnie, Rachel, Lauren, Marcus, Mason and Carson; two great-grandchildren: Justin and Morgan; two brothers: Wilford (Ella) McCauley, of Ripon and Vaughn (Betty) McCauley, of Reedsburg; five sisters: Genevieve Hilleshiem, of Sparta; Dorothy Foley, of Richland Center; Lucille Froehlich, of Reedsburg; Norma (Conrad) Markley, of Prairie du Sac and Janice (Ike) Keil, of Bellevue, Iowa. He was preceded in death by a brother: Gordon and a grandson: Gerald Powell Jr.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with Pastor Kurt Klingbeil officiating.

Interment with military rites will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Hillpoint.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.

He was born Feb. 20, 1941 on a farm just north of Prairie du Sac to the late Raymond and Caroline (Ferstl) Ederer. Shortly after he was born, his family had to relocate to make way for the construction of the Badger Army Ammunition Plant. His family moved to farm near the Sauk County Hospital and Home near Reedsburg. He attended the one-room school house appropriately named the County Farm School. Dick farmed with his parents and was proud to have served in the United States Army from 1964-1965. He married Marilyn Zick on Oct. 26, 1968, she preceded him in death on June 15, 2004, and she was the love of his life for 35 years. Alongside his wife Marilyn, they owned and operated Roses Bar in Sauk City from 1972 until 1978. Dick worked for Fuchs Trucking in Sauk City for 35 years and drove over 3 million miles without a highway accident, a feat he was always proud of. He was a lifetime fan of the Badgers and Green Bay Packers, enjoyed trips to Nelson near the Mississippi River, camping in Montello and Northern Wisconsin, and rides in the country stopping in at the country bars to socialize with his many friends. Dick was a member of Divine Mercy Parish in Sauk City.
He is survived by his daughter, Karla (Tim Smith) Ederer of Sauk City; brother, Donald (Marlene) Ederer of Loyal, Wis; half-brother, Marvin (Gloria Young) Alt of Cottonville, Ariz; and a sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn and Ivan Steckleberg of Denzer; nieces and nephews, Donna, Elena, Carol, Mary, Eva, Barbara, Ivan Jr., Brenda, Michael and Beth.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Joan Alt.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 115 Madison St., Sauk City. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. at the Hooverson Funeral Home, 251 Water St., Sauk City.

JoAnn is survived by her 3 children, Barbara (Ray) Saeman; Ivan Jr. (Chris) Steckelberg; Brenda (Butch) Tesch; and a stepson, Roger (Anita) Steckelberg, and four grand-children, Richard (Kim) Steckelberg, Jamie (Will) Sindberg, Jessica Tesch, and Cody Tesch; seven great-grandchildren, Fisher Steckelberg, Michael Tesch-Greenwood, Matthew, Lily, and Caleb Tesch, and Alec Sindberg and Hendrix Tesch; a niece Karla Ederer a sister-in-law, Pearl Meixelsperger; and other relatives and friends.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan, her parents, Rueben and Vernus Zick, stepfather, Ray Rothacker, sister, Marilyn (Dick) Ederer, a grandson, Justin Tesch.

Doral was born June 17, 1934, to Maurice and Julia (Wiebelhaus) Ketter at Fordyce. She attended school at District 1 Wynot for first and second grade, then moved with her family to California. The family moved back to Wynot in her freshman year, graduating with the class of 1951. Following high school she worked at Sacred Heart Hospital as a dictaphone stenographer.

Doral married Don Schroeder June 25, 1960, and to this union three children were born.

Doral was a homemaker for the first 11 years of their marriage and when the children were older, she went to cosmetology school and graduated in 1971. She opened a beauty shop in her home and worked there for 30 years. Doral helped with a lot of fish fries and worked for Wynot Insurance for four years later in her life. Then she retired to take care of Don and herself.

Doral was a member of the Sacred Heart Alter Society and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She enjoyed watching her children participate in Wynot sports and attended many activities. Later, she followed her grandsons playing football for the Yankton Bucks. She always watched and cheered whenever a Nebraska Huskers football or volleyball game was on.

Doral is survived by two sons, Kirk (Jeanne), Yankton, S.D., and Kary (Diane), Rock Rapids, Iowa; sisters, Norma Foster, Wynot, and Linda Stodola, Fremont; brother, Stanley of Ponca; and sister-in-law, Nadene Ketter, Wynot; five grandchildren, Aubrey Vasquez, Kearney; Ethan (Sarah) Schroeder, Kearney; Evan Schroeder, Yankton, S.D; Melissa (Mike) Melcher, Jasper, Minn; Shane (Allison) Hilbrands, Iowa City, Iowa; and three great-grandchildren Maddox, Emma and Samuel.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Don; daughter, Keely; infant brother, Ronald Ketter; and brother, Maurice Ketter Jr; sisters, Sandra Ketter and Lucy Holdorf; and brothers-in-law, Glen Foster and Milo Stodola.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, September 25, 2020 at 10:30 am at Holy Family (Sacred Heart) Catholic Church in Wynot, Nebraska with Reverend Jim Keiter officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Wynot. Visitation will be at church on Thursday from 5:00 – 8:00 pm with a vigil service at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Friday. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington, NE.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren Eric Dendinger, Jake Dendinger, Jarod Dendinger, Kyle Fuchtman, Rashea (Fuchtman) Schumacher, Klay Fuchtman, Austin Ketter, Abby (Ketter) Burroughs, Connor Ketter, Sara (Stevens) Vandertuig, Emily (Stevens) Duarte, Zack Salem, Jackie (Salem) Furasek.

Honorary pallbearers will be Maurice’s seven step-grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

Maurice was born on August 31, 1936 in Wynot, Nebraska to Maurice and Julia Ann (Wiebelhaus) Ketter Sr. He grew up in Wynot and graduated from Wynot High School in 1954. He then went to Barbering School in Sioux City, Iowa. Maurice barbered for over 50 years in Coleridge, Wynot, and Yankton, SD. Maurice also worked for the Cedar County Road Department for 20 years running the maintainer and he drove the school bus for Wynot Public School for 22 years. Maurice married Nadene Kristine Colbenson on July 23, 1957 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Yankton, SD. They had five children Denise, Dione, Darcel, Doug, and Darla.

Maurice was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wynot, he was an EMT for 17 years, and volunteer fireman for 25 years. In his younger years he played baseball for Wynot for 20 years. He started Legion Baseball for the youth in Wynot and coached Legion baseball. Maurice was instrumental in getting lights at the Wynot ballfield. Maurice loved his wife and was his grandchildren’s #1 fan. He loved the Huskers, Wynot Blue Devils, Wynot baseball, and the NY Yankees. Maurice served on the town board for eight years, was on the Wynot Public Cemetery Board, parish council, the Veterans Memorial Committee, a church choir member for many years, RC &D Board and was president of the Corps of Discovery Welcome Center. Maurice loved fishing, playing cards, making up poker games, camping, spending time at the river, and whittling canes (which all of his grandkids have one of his creations).

Maurice is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nadene of Wynot; five children Denise (Joel) Dendinger of Norfolk, Dione (Scott) Fuchtman of Creighton, Darcel (David) Stevens of Yankton, SD, Doug (Teresa) Ketter of Norfolk, Darla Salem (Marv Peters) of Lincoln; 13 grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; four siblings Norma Foster of Wynot, Doral Schroeder of Wynot, Linda Stodola Fremont, Stanley Ketter of Ponca.

Preceding Maurice in death were his parents Maurice and Julia Ketter Sr; brother Ronald Ketter; two sisters Sandra Ketter, Lucy Holdorf; brothers-in-law Don Schroeder, Milo Stodola, Glenn Foster, John Spence, Curt Colbenson, Jim North; daughter-in-law Brenda (Hochstein) Ketter.
