Daniel Guenther at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 18 (2004), in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Interment was in the West Bend Cemetery with the Harris Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Memorials will be given to the Pro-Life organizations. Raymond Vincent Montag, son of William and Eva Rink Montag, was born November 25, 1917 at West Bend, Iowa. He graduated from Rodman High School in 1935 and later attended Emmetsburg Junior College where he earned an Associate Degree. He was united in marriage to Marguerite Dahlhauser on January 11, 1944. The Montags had seven children. Raymond was a lifelong farmer in Fern Valley Township near Rodman. He also sold seed corn and hogs and worked at the West Bend International Implement. He was an active member of the Farm Bureau. Later, he moved near West Bend and most recently lived at Emerald Oaks Assisted Living in Emmetsburg. Ray was a devout member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. His Catholic faith was very important to him. Ray was a hardworking, frugal man with a unique sense of humor. He enjoyed fishing, carpentry and woodworking and he built each of the homes he lived in. He enjoyed time spent visiting with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. Raymond died Thursday, October 14 (2004), in the Palo Alto County Hospital at Emmetsburg at the age of 86. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Delores Kemna. Raymond is survived by his wife, Marguerite, Emmetsburg, and his children: Carol and Henry Bonnstetter of Cylinder, Dorothy and Tim Schutz, Mallard; Dan and Margaret Montag, Emmetsburg; Bernadette and Michael Wise, Emmetsburg; Roger and Theresa Montag, West Bend; Karen and Patrick Murphy, Hardy; Ark., and Peter Montag, West Bend. There are 42 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

The funeral was held from the residence to the Sacred Heart Church, Saturday morning, August 5, at 9 o'clock. The Rev. John N. Richards, of Blessing, Iowa, a relative of Mrs. Haas, offered the mass of requiem. The Right Rev. Monsignor Arnold Boeding preached the sermon and officiated at the graveside in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque. Father Richards assisted at the graveside. Pallbearers, all nephews of Mrs. Haas, were Edmund, Robert, Maurice, and Harold Haas, Eugene Lehman, and Eldon Pust. Members of the honorary escort representing St. Clara's Court, Catholic Order of Foresters, were Mrs. Lucy Richter, Mrs. Susan Weland, Mrs. Emma Steiver, and Mrs. Matilda Huber. Attending the funeral from outside the city were Mr. and Mrs. Ted Vosberg and family, of Rockford, Ill; Mrs. John Richard, of Manchester, Ia; Mr. and Mrs. M. Lehman, of Chicago, Ill; Henry, Frank, and Edward Richard, and Adam Haas and family, all of Kieler, Wis; and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Klaas and Mrs. Walter Brimeyer, of North Buena Vista, Ia. Mrs. Haas was survived by three daughters, Miss Dora Haas and Mrs. William (Gertrude) Pust, both of Dubuque, Ia., and Mrs. M. (Loretta) Lehman, of Chicago, Ill; two sons, Fred and Joseph Haas, both of Dubuque, Ia; two sisters, Mrs. Theodore Vosberg, of Rockford, Ill., and Mrs. J.P. Jensen, of Butte, Mont; one brother, Lawrence Richard, of Dubuque, Ia; and fourteen grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 9 a.m., Thursday, December 31, from the funeral home to St. Francis Xavier Church in Dyersville, with the Rev. David Voels, assistant pastor, officiating. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque, where the Rev. Robert Hirsch, assistant pastor, officiated. Pallbearers were Ed Domayer, Emil Manthey, William Deutmeyer, Anthony Lake, Leo Sherlock, and LaVern Cunningham. Mrs. Ziegler was survived by her husband, Clarence; a daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Jeanette) Manthey, of Dyersville, Ia; a son, Edmund Ziegler, of Omaha, Neb; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. George Utzig and Mrs. Bill Brandt, both of Dubuque, Ia; and a brother, Melvin Richard, of Dubuque, Ia.

The funeral was held Saturday morning, August 10, at 9 o'clock from the family residence at 691 Windsor Avenue to the Sacred Heart Church in Dubuque. Father Boeding celebrated a requiem mass and delivered the sermon. Father Holthaus assisted at the interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery in that city. The pallbearers were Messrs. Graessle, Miller, Kenefick, Hanlon, Krause, and Brinkman. Mrs. Richter's death is the cause of heartfelt sorrow among her family and many friends throughout the city. She was a true Christian mother and an ideal wife. Mrs. Richter was survived by her husband Joseph Richter; children Frank, Angeline, Martha, Joseph, Ollie, and George, all of Dubuque, Ia., and Mrs. J. Hafele, of Cox, South Dakota; also by her mother Mrs. Gerhardt, of Potosi, Wis; two brothers, Joseph and John, both of Potosi; Wis; and two sisters, Mrs. John Carroll, of Dubuque, Ia., and Mrs. William Powell, of Potosi, Wis.

21 January 1946Mercy Hospital, Dubuque, Dubuque, IowaJoseph John Richter was informant on the death certificate of Joseph Richter Sr. on 21 January 1946 at Mercy Hospital, Dubuque, Dubuque, Iowa; Joseph Richter, Sr., 91, of Queen Street in Dubuque, Iowa, who had been ill for a year, died at 11:15, Monday morning, January 21, 1946, at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque. The remains were at the Hoffman Mortuary in Dubuque, where visitation was after 7 o'clock, Tuesday night, January 22. The funeral was held to Sacred Heart Church in Dubuque at 9 o'clock, Thursday morning, January 24, where the Very Rev. J. Fred Kriebs officiated and delivered a sermon. Burial was in Mount Calvary in Dubuque, where the Rev. Wilfred Kress was in charge of services. Pallbearers were Leo Diener, Lyle Parker, Krieg Kile, Joseph Richter, William Beution, and Ray Reilly. Mr. and Mrs. Einar Hageman, of Chicago, and Greg Hageman, of Chicago, were present for the last rites. Mr. Richter was survived by two daughters, Mrs. Max (Angeline) Parker, of Dubuque, Ia., and Mrs. Einar (Martha) Hageman, of Chicago, Ill; three sons, Joseph J., of Dubuque, Ia., George, of Chicago, Ill., and Frank, of Bremerton, Wash; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Mrs. Anna Duve and Mrs. Mary Kelly, both of Potosi, Wis., Mrs. Dora Jacobs of Council Bluffs, Ia., and Mrs. Margaret Schmitz, of Beetown, Wis.
