Shelly was born on July 14, 1944, and was a lifelong resident of Kingsford. She was the youngest child of Millard and Alice (Glaser) White. She attended American Martyrs Catholic grade school through the 8th grade and graduated from Kingsford High School, class of 1962. When she was young, her parents owned and operated Enterprise Dry Cleaners. She married Michael "Micky" Curran in 1966, and together they had three children. He preceded her in death in 1977. She worked for many years as a telephone operator for Michigan Bell and then enjoyed her time as a stay-at-home mom. She re-joined the work force again retiring from Shopko in 2006 after 25 years. In 1991, she married Nick Paoletti III. Shelly enjoyed flower gardening, shopping and 4-wheeling with her loving husband. She was an amazing painter and artist. She immensely loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending many of their sporting events. She was a faithful member of American Martyrs Catholic Church and enjoyed working with the ladies there. Shelly is survived by her husband, Nick; her children, Kevan (Jessica) Curran, their children, Kyle, Kameron, Konner, of Dayton, Ohio, her son, Keith (Sarah) Curran, their children, Justin, Andrew, William, of Appleton, her daughter Kandace Curran, her children, Kayla, Brooke Lynn, and Tanner of Stephenson; her brother, Ron (Ruby) White of Milwaukee; sisters-in-law, Ann Paoletti, Chris (Hanson) Paoletti of Green Bay, Wis. and Linda (Bob) Vincent of Iron Mountain. She is further survived by many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins. She is also survived by her special "sister" (cousin) Sally Payette, and her faithful dog, Pepper. Shelly (Nana) will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Joan Kujala; father-in-law, Nick Paoletti II; and brother-in-law, Michael Paoletti. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford. Fr. Joseph Gouin will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Shelly will be laid to rest at the Breitung Township Cemetery in Quinnesec. Shelly's grandchildren will serve as pallbearers, per her request. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to Dr. VanLaanen, Dr. Ziemba, St. Vincent Hospital 6th Floor ICU, 9th Floor Oncology, Green Bay Oncology, Dr. Tammela, PAC's, Kristen and Martha, and Unity Hospice. Death30 July 2009Harvey Joseph Conley died on 30 July 2009 at age 81 Harvey Joseph 'Joe' Conley, 81, of Muscoda, died Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Golden Living Center, Riverdale. He was born March 3, 1928 in Marshall Township, Richland County, the son of Leo and Avis (Wey) Conley. He was a cheese maker by trade after a fire destroyed the Byrds Creek Factory. Joe married Erma Grindeman on May 26, 1947. Joe went to work for the state of Wisconsin, which he retired from. He was a man that could build or fix anything. Joe always had a joke and a gift for talk. He loved gambling, taking many bus trips, and always amazed everyone how he could always win. Joe loved to fish and spent many weeks a year at his son' s cabin in Chetek. Joe is survived by his wife of 62 years, Erma of Muscoda; son, Wayne Conley of Muscoda; daughter, Janice (Larry) Schlafer of Richland Center; brother, Edward (Linda) Conley of Blue Eye, Mo; four grandchildren, Holly Conley of Richland Center, Wes (Wendy) Conley of Muscoda, Hartzell Phetteplace of Cascade and Brent Montgomery of Richland Center; six great-grandchildren, Ciara, Andrew, Brenna, Cortlyn, Samanth and Liberty;and many other relatives and friends. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Hartzell; and sister, Pat (Bartow). Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, at 11 a.m. at ST. JOHN' S LUTHERAN CHURCH in Avoca. Burial will follow in the AvocaCemetery. Friends may call at the GODAGER FUNERAL HOME on Sunday, Aug.2, 2009 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at ST. JOHN' S LUTHERAN CHURCHon Monday, Aug. 3, 2009 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at11 a.m.
