He was born April 23, 1920, in Bloom City, the son of Fred and Byrle (Borland) Cooper. On Aug. 15, 1942, Ivan married Francis Cooper. Ivan worked as a teacher in Richland County schools for many years and later held administrative positions in Belmont and South Wayne-Gratiot (Black Hawk), Wisconsin schools. Ivan and Francis lived 33 years in Monroe, before moving to Schmitt Woodland Hills Retirement Center in Richland Center on October 2002. Ivan and Francis would have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in August, this year. Ivan is survived by his wife of 62 years, Francis; three children, Larry (Christine) Cooper of Rosendale, Wis., Connie (Harlan) Hackbarth of Allenton, Wis. and Karen (Wayne) Bender of Little Suamico, Wis; seven grandchildren, Jefferson (Brenda) Cooper of Milwaukee, Elizabeth (William) Pickart of Juneau, Wis., Rebecca (Nathan) Kehoe of Dubuque, Iowa, Sean and Sara Hackbarth of Allenton, Wis., Tara Bender of Port Washington, and Shana Bender of Atlanta, Ga; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the PRATT MEMORIAL CHAPEL with the Rev. Craig Peach officiating, with burial to follow in the Loyd Cemetery. Friends may call at the PRATT MEMORIAL CHAPEL on Monday, Aug. 1, 2005, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., or again on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. The Pratt Funeral Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
