She married Ronald Whitley on November 14, 1970 in Quincy, and he preceded her in death on November 18, 1996. Darlene attended QHS. She was a housewife and mother, and worked for a brief time at Hermann Jewelers. She was a member of Union United Methodist Church. Survivors include three children - Gregory (Shirley) Davis of Quincy, IL, Brenda (Gordon) Cantrell of Camp Point, IL, and Dana B. Davis of Quincy, IL; 4 Grandchildren - Danny (Cheryl) Hermsmeier of Winnemucca, NV, Jackie (Danny) Hauser, Morgan Slough, and Jayme Davis, all of Quincy; 6 great-grandchildren - Devyn and Destiny Hauser, Kaden and Kaia Young, and Samantha and Garrett Hermsmeier, and a stepson - Joe (Sandy) Whitley of SC. In addition to her husbands she was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Iola Woods, and four brothers, Russell, Frank, Robert, and Bill Hull. Services: 10:00 AM Friday, December 24, 2010 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Morwell officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation: 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM Thursday at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Memorials: American Lung Association. Hansen-Spear Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
