Judi lived and worked as a CPA in Portland, OR, Denver, CO, Naperville, IL, and Nashville, TN. She and Jim owned a summer cabin near Bemidji, MN. Judi retired as Business Manager for the Nashville Crisis Intervention Center in 2004, where she also served as a volunteer counselor in suicide prevention. She was preceded in death by her sister Muriel Pacholl, and her parents Ben and Veronica Suek. She is survived by her husband Jim, daughters Julia Hagle, Karen DeFore, and Gretchen Hagle and their spouses, and grandchildren Taylor, Mackenzie, Jackson, Eliza, Benjamin, and Nicholas. Funeral mass begins at 10:30 AM, Friday, June 27, 2008 at ST. MATTHEW'S CHURCH in St. Paul, followed by a reception at St. Matthew's and an Interment service at 2PM at the Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.

This trait was shown at its strongest when it came to the love and care she showed her family, which at the time of her passing had swelled to more than one hundred members. She held a special place in her heart for each one of them. She was well known as a woman who never met a child that she did not love. She is survived by her children, Selma Jean (Don) Gant, Dean Amundson, Ida Lou (Paul) Horner, Judith (Maynard) Rasmussen, and Sandra Amundson; 27 Grandchildren; 61 Great-Grandchildren; 16 Great-Great-Grandchildren; and her brother, Dick Millette. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burdette Amundson; her children, Gerarld “Bud” Amundson, Arlys Gant, Arden Amundson, and Lawrence “Larry” Amundson; her grandchildren, Delvin Amundson, Darrell Amundson, and Timothy “Timmy” Amundson; her great-grandchildren, Joseph Ada, and Nathan Korbel; and her siblings, George Millette, Leo Millette, Ed Millette, Bob Millette, and Evalin Kleinjan.

She attended high school in Akron Iowa, where she met her high school sweetheart Donald. She was in the graduating class of 1947. They were married on November 22, 1948. Their travels took them too many different areas, which they called home, starting in Beresford, SD, then off to Algona, Iowa, then to Madison WI before retiring in Green Valley, AZ.

Sally was such a “classy lady in looks and action. Sally was a good example of a great cook and housekeeper, a gracious hostess, devoted wife, and a loving mother of 5 wonderful children, many grandchildren and great grands. Sally was so inviting to all into her home. She was a good friend to all that knew her.

Sally was active in life; she loved to play golf, playing cards with friends and could even enjoy a good book or a late night movie. Gardening was a passion and taking care of the neighborhood birds

Sally is survived by: her 5 children, Linda Ada, Terry Gant (Sue), Donna Gant McGrath, Steve Gant (Kim), as well as 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; her brother Dean Amundson, her sisters Ida Lou Horner and Sandy Amundson. Sally was preceded in death by her father Burdette, her Mother Lillian (Millette); her husband Don Gant; her brothers Bud Amundson, Arden Amundson and Larry Amundson, her sisters Arlys Gant and Judy Rasmussen; grandson Joseph “Cory” Ada; son-in-law Terrence McGrath

A graveside service is planned for August 20, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Akron Iowa. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Akron, Iowa.
