He was born in Plain on December 22, 1942, the son of Anthony and Stella (Richards) Bauer. Al graduated from Spring Green High School in 1961, where he excelled in sports. He married Maxine Schutz in Plain on June 22, 1963. He retired from Oscar Mayer after 39 years of employment in 2000. Al and Maxine were charter members of St. Peter Catholic church.

Al was an avid Badgers, Brewers, and Packers fan, he loved bowling and most importantly, hunting and fishing. He will be remembered for his willingness to lend a helping hand by the many he helped in the community and at church.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Maxine; his children, Brad (Cindy) Bauer, Rhonda (Rick) Rolli, and Scott (Sheri) Bauer; his grandchildren, Chelsea and Hunter Bauer, Racheal and Nathan Rolli, and Sterling, Skylar and Sierra Bauer; his siblings, Carol (Rudy) Ringelstetter and Bob (Marlyn) Bauer; and his cat companion, Haddie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 8, 2018, at ST. PETER CATHOLIC CHURCH, Madison with Msgr. Charles Schluter officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Monday at the church.

On August 21, 1953, Jean was united in marriage to Arley E. Ziech at St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural LaValle. Arley preceded her in death on May 14, 1997. Jean was employed at the Sauk County Health Care Center for 27 years, and also worked on the family farm. She loved gardening, both flower and vegetable; she enjoyed reading, solving word puzzles, and playing cards. What Jean cherished the most is
the time she spent with her family - camping, playing games, or simply being together.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; four children in infancy, including a set of twins; brother, Eldor Buelow; sister, Beverly Buelow; sons-in-law, Robert Losic and Timothy Collins.

Jean is survived by her children, Angie Ziech of Reedsburg, Rod Ziech of Reedsburg, Char Collins of Loganville, Myra (David) Estes of Reedsburg; 9 grandchildren: David (Annie), Treanna, Asa (Keir), Ashley, J.J. (Erin), Joshua (Bre), Jayme (Dillon), Brittany (Nick), Tiffany (Adam);

Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, and on Tuesday from 10:00 AM unitl the time of the service at the church.

Following her parent’s death she resided at the Heritage Manor in Elroy, Sauk County Health Care Center in Reedsburg, and the Clark County Health Care Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Eldor Buelow; brothers-in-law, Delbert Westedt and Arley Ziech; sisters-in-law, Marion Buelow and Vera Buelow; nephew, David Buelow and niece, Sandy Miller.

She is survived by her sisters and brothers:

Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Big Creek. Friends may call on Monday from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg, and at the church on Tuesday from 12 noon until the time of the service at 2:00 P.M. Memorials of remembrance may be made to St. Paul’s Cemetery Fund of LaValle.

She was born on April 1, 1928 in the Town of Washington, Sauk County, the daughter of Harry and Clara (Gonslin) Jaquish. Annabelle was a 1946 graduate of Lime Ridge High School. On January 25, 1947, she was married to Morris Leigh. Together they farmed in the Lime Ridge area for many years. She also worked as a custodian and school bus driver for the Weston School District. Annabelle later worked as a health care facility maintenance supervisor in Oshkosh until her retirement. She enjoyed woodworking, horseback riding, snowmobiling and riding her motorcycle. Survivors include her two children: Kathleen (Luke) Miller, of Caledonia and Dan Leigh, of Chicago, IL; two grandchildren: Jennifer (Steven) Burks and Luke J. Miller; two great grandchildren: Cade and Avery Burks; two sisters: Rosalie Meyer, of Reedsburg and Barbara Fosnow, of Sun Prairie; her special friend: Mary "Woody" Knudsen, of Oshkosh; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: Ted Jaquish; two sisters: Alice Krinke and Betty Hineman; and her former husband: Morris Leigh. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Lime Ridge with Pastor Bob Maeglin officiating. Interment will be in the Lime Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Friday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg.
