On April 7, 1951, she was married to Gerald W. Prouty. He preceded her in death on July 13, 2009. Lois and Jerry operated the family farm for many years. Following retirement, they moved to Tomahawk until returning to the family farm. Lois also managed several rental properties. She was a member of the Sandusky United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. Lois enjoyed quilting and collecting vintage jewelry. Survivors include her four children: Constance J. Prouty, Mark M. Prouty and Stephen A. (Julie) Prouty, all of Hillpoint; Matthew C. (Roberta) Prouty, of North Carolina; eight grandchildren: Cherish, Peter, Joshua, Adam, Steven, Daniel, Michael and Clayton; nine great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the Sandusky United Methodist Church, rural Hillpoint. Interment will be in the Sandusky Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg and after 10:00 A.M. on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials to the Sandusky United Methodist Church would be appreciated. The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family.

He was born on April 14, 1935 in Madison, the son of William and Marie (Thrun) Nobbs. Bob was a 1954 graduate of Oregon High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. On May 7, 1960, he was married to the former Kathleen Thieding. Bob was a dairy farmer most of his life. He also worked at Hammond Manufacturing in Baraboo until his retirement. Bob was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and he was very active with the Badger Steam and Gas Show for many years. He enjoyed restoring antique farm machinery. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen; four children: Duane Nobbs, of Loganville; Virginia (James Jr.) Kruschke, of Reedsburg; Dennis (Heather) Nobbs, of Hampshire, Illinois and Linda (Brett) Cunningham, of Reedsburg; six grandchildren: Dayna (Drew) Wood, James (Lila) Kruschke III, Zach Cunningham, Olivia Nobbs, Ashley Cunningham and Aidan Nobbs; one great grandchild: Archer Wood; one brother: Norman (Marie) Nobbs, of Hancock; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson: Phillip Kruschke. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Loganville with Pastor Christopher Miller officiating. Interment with military rites will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Friday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Loganville would be appreciated. The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family.

"Jake" Steinhorst, age 89, of Reedsburg, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Casa de Oakes in Reedsburg. He was born on November 17, 1930 in Loganville, the son of August and Ella (Williams) Steinhorst. Jake was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the U.S. Army. On May 28, 1955 he was married to the former Sue A. Parkhurst. He had owned and operated Reedsburg Salvage since 1966. Jake will be remembered by his family as a loving and devoted husband, father and Papa. He served as a city alderman from 1969 to 1972. Jake was active on the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Board of Review for many years. He was also a supervisor for the Town of Reedsburg. In his younger days, he was a member of the Loganville Fire Department. Jake was also a past president of the Reedsburg Little League. He was proud to have been appointed a special deputy for the Sauk County Sheriff's Department. Jake was also a member of the Reedsburg V.F.W. Post 1916 and a member of St. John Lutheran Church where he served on the cemetery board. He truly enjoyed baseball, singing, dancing and going out to dinner with his wife, Sue. Survivors include his four children: Brente (Pam) Steinhorst, of Reedsburg; Traye (Dayna) Steinhorst, of Rock Springs; Korrie (Paula) Steinhorst, of Baraboo and Suzie (Tracy) Horkan, of Reedsburg; eight grandchildren: Hannah and Max Steinhorst; Jacob Steinhorst, Jessica (Jacob) Alt, Allison Steinhorst; JoEtte, Kyran and Tarek Horkan; two step-grandchildren: Alicia (Joe) Rau and Elizabeth (Jeremy) Coleman; four step-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Marie Steinhorst, of Reedsburg and Jane (Robert) Bortz, of Beaver Dam; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue, on January 26, 2013; his brother: Gerald "Bud" Steinhorst; his sister: Rosalyn (Ed) Vig; a step-grandson: Arnold; and a brother-in-law: Jon Parkhurst. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 28, 2020 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with Pastor Paula Harris officiating. Interment with military honors will be in the church cemetery. There will be a visitation from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg and after 10:00 A.M. on Friday at the church.
