They moved to Hurst, Texas, in 1983, where they lived until Mr. Anderson died on March 30, 2000. She then returned to her home in Hawarden. She married Larry Opdahl on July 18, 2001, and they continued to make their home in Hawarden. She entered Morningside Manor Care Center in Alcester, South Dakota, in January 2007. She was a member of American Lutheran Church in Hawarden. She enjoyed her flowers, the outdoors and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed listening to Christian stations on radio and television and attending church activities. She was a great wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include her husband, Larry Opdahl of Hawarden; three daughters, Cynthia Wilkens of Mitchell, South Dakota, Brenda and Charles Ericson of Alcester, South Dakota, and Renee and Scott Olson of Corsica, South Dakota; five step-children, Mark and Marie Opdahl, Melissa and Jeff Eilts, Matthew and Connie Opdahl, Michael and Jennifer Opdahl and Molly and Mark Morgan; six grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; and a sister, Delilah and Jack Merrick of Alcester, South Dakota. Roger passed away on February 5, 2014 and Gayle continued to live in her own home until 2018 when she moved to Bickford Senior Living. Gayle enjoyed playing cards and Scrabble; doing oil paintings; and was an avid watcher of Judge Judy. She loved her birds and her special dog, Moochie. Above all, she loved spending time with her family. She was member of Riverside Lutheran Church and the V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary. Gayle is survived by three sons and their spouses: Marlon (Debra) Anderson, Bryon (Cheryl) Anderson, and Joel (Shele) Anderson all of Sioux City; six grandchildren: Melissa (Jamie) Recker, Marnee Daugherty, Bryon (Crystal) Anderson, Jacob (Latrinda) Anderson, Selina Anderson (Nick Darr), and Austin (Tara) Anderson; 16 great grandchildren; and one brother-in-law, Leroy Anderson of Sioux City. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed decorating, entertaining at family holidays, and embroidering. She also enjoyed going to the Senior Center in South Sioux City with LeRoy and collecting chicken knickknacks. She was a 60 year member of Riverside Lutheran Church and a 25 year member of Izaak Walton. Cleone is survived by her husband, LeRoy Anderson of Sioux City; children, Greg (Theresa) Anderson of Crofton, Nebraska, Sharon Anderson of Sioux City, Rhonda Anderson of Sioux City, Randy Anderson of North Sioux City, and Karen Anderson of Sioux City; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 5, 2015, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hector.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hughes-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hector, with a 7:45 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Sandra Lea Otto was born May 30, 1950, in Olivia, to Walter A. and Lila Shirley (Stancer) Klause.

She is survived by her husband James Otto of Hutchinson; children, Lori Damlow of Hutchinson, Terry Behm of Sartell, and Shane Schiebel of Hector; step-children, Jason Otto of Glencoe, Justin Otto of Hutchinson, and Janelle Baune of Hutchinson; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings: Wallis "Mike" Klause of Willmar, Deb Weinhold of Clarkfield, Barb Hillmann of Buffalo Lake, Cindy Klause of Hector, Cheryl Schmalz of Buffalo Lake, and Keith Klause of New Ulm.
