After passing the State Bar later that same year he joined Western Pacific Insurance Company which later became American States Insurance. He stayed with them for his entire 35 year career, retiring on November 30th, 1995....

Mr. Ramsey died in 1938. Mrs. Ramsey was a member of the Nazarene Church in Parsons. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Mary Dismore, Miami, Okla., Mrs. Nevada Jones, Ft. Scott, and Mrs. Rachel Clugston, McCune; four sons, Charley Ramsey and Clarence Ramsey, both of Parsons, Wilburn Ramsey, Russell, and Loyd Ramsey, Oklahoma Oty, Okla; three sister:, Mrs. Pearl Woffard, Colcord, Okla., Mrs. Roe White, Miami, Okla., and Mrs. Ada Gibby, Hawthorne, Calif; a brother, Merle Spence, Miami, Okla. Funeral services were held Monday the Burris-Wall Chapel at Parsons with the Rev. J.R. Smith officiating. Burial was in Highland Park Cemetery.

Mary worked at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in the Pastry Department, she was well known for the cakes that she baked and decorated. She was very artistic when it came to decorating a cake and most all of the designing was done free hand. Her other hobbies included crocheting and sewing; she was a very talented seamstress sometimes making her own patterns out of newspaper when she sewed for her daughter, other members of the family and friends. Her family was the most important thing in her life.

Mrs. Dismore was preceded in passing by her brothers Parents Memory and Iva Ramsey, her husband who passed April 13, 1975 H.O. Dismore, her brothers, Ercel, Chuck, Clarence Dean, Wilbern, Wesley, Chester and Lester Ramsey, three sisters Rachel Clugston, May Smirl, and Nevada Jones.

Survivors include her daughter and son in law Ruth and William Spotts of Cleora, two grandchildren Teresa Koppin and her husband Mark, Kurtis Spotts and his wife Robbin and her great grandchildren Christina Hart, Hannah Spotts and Kyle Spotts.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 from noon till 1:00 PM at the Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami.

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Cooper Memorial Chapel in Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami with Pastor Ron Eden Officiating. Interment will follow in the Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery.

He was born July 28, 1923, at Miami, Okla., to Memory and Iva (Spence) Ramsey. In his early years he worked for the Frisco Railroad and later for the B&R Tire Service. Later he was employed by the Katy Railroad, from which he retired.

During World War II he served in the United States Navy and was stationed at Pearl Harbor after the attack.

On Nov. 13, 1942, he married Anna Nadine Scheibner.

Mr. Ramsey was a member of Westside Christian Church and was a life member of Brown-Bishop Post No. 704, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He especially enjoyed being with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Ramsey of Parsons; a son, William Dean Ramsey and his wife, Jutta, of Houston; three daughters, Carolyn Sue Kuffler and her husband, Jerry, Iva Jean McDaniel and her husband, Ronnie, and Peggy Ann Castle and her husband, Larry, all of Parsons; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and a sister, Mary Dismore of Afton, Okla.

Seven brothers and sister preceded him in death.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Carson-Wall Funeral Home. The flag presentation will be by the V.F.W. Post No. 704. Burial will be at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Later he attended Pittsburg State University and acted as an assistant instructor for one semester. He served in the Army during World War II in the European Theater.

Mr. Ramsey was an electrician working for Laubhan Electric for 27 years.

He married Leola M. Ashcraft on June 27, 1949, in Oswego. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include four sons, Wilbern Ramsey Jr., Kenneth Ramsey, Roger Ramsey and Perry Ramsey, all of Russell; a daughter, Linda Christian of Russell; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Clarence "Dean" Ramsey of Parsons; and a sister, Mary Dismore of Miami, Okla.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary in Russell. Burial will follow at the Russell City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the mortuary.
