He had been a resident of Greene county and Grand Junction for fifty years. He retired from active farm life fifteen years ago, moving to Grand Junction, where he has since resided. Mrs. John Burkhart of Des Moines is a daughter, other children being James Friel of Chicago, Hugh and Fergus Friel of Grand Junction, Mrs. Bridget Dolan of Clare, and Sarah Friel, who lived at home. Mr. Friel's wife died last October. Funeral services will be held in Grand Junction Monday morning. The remains will be brought to Des Moines, where they will be interred in St. Ambrose cemetery Monday afternoon. The funeral procession will leave the Union station at 3 o'clock.
