He later was employed at Karau's Grocery Store and retired from the Marshfield Clinic in the building services area. Tom loved to go camping, fishing, polka music at the Eagles Club and watch the Green Bay Packers. He is survived by his children, Mike (Mary Jo Hamilton) Smith of Baxter, MN, Connie Wiesemann of Marshfield, Jenny (Carl) Landowski of Scandinavia, Jim Smith of Marshfield, and Tammy (Kurt) Wallig; six grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Besides is parents, and wife Mary, he was preceded in death by Sgt. William Smith in Vietnam, two daughters Karen and Cheryl Smith, son-in-law Norbert Cahn, three brothers and one sister.

On Oct. 29, 1952 she married Wayne Craft and they spent most of their married life in Nekoosa.

Family will greet friends and relatives from 10:00 AM - 12 noon on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021 at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa, WI with a service at 12 noon. A luncheon will follow at the Nekoosa Community Center where Betty's famous chicken will be served. Burial will be held at Green Hill Cemetery in the Town of Saratoga after the lunch.

Betty was well known as the "lunch lady" as she was the Nekoosa School District hot lunch manager and cook for 34 years. She loved the kids and many still remember her. Betty catered for many events with her best friend Rita Sutherland. She catered her last wedding at age 80 where she celebrated by doing the "mashed potato" which is hilarious and was captured on video.

Betty and Wayne loved fishing and their road trips to California on their motorcycle and camping trip to Alaska. She loved spending time with friends; bowling, dancing and playing cards. She was known to get a bit loud watching the Packers. She could always come up with funny comments to take you off guard and make you chuckle too. After retiring Betty moved to her daughter and son-in-law's farm in Arpin. Retirement meant many more road trips with her sister-in-law Marguerite Dupee or cousin Sally Bremmer taking her all over the U.S. She took several trips including tours to Alaska, Ireland, England, Germany, France and Italy. She loved spending time with her family. She was very close to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also helped her daughter build a cabin on the farm. This became the headquarters for hunting season where she manned the kitchen and enjoyed the stories that were told.

Betty is survived by her brother, William (Bev) Welch of Marshfield; children, Judy (Larry) Grimm of Arpin, Dennis (Barb) Craft of Tucson AZ, and Douglas (Mary) Craft of Dexterville; eight grandchildren, Rick (Shelly) Grimm of Arpin, Amy Mayer of Lakeville MN, Dana (Will) Parker of Silver Spring MD, Jessica (Scott) Hamblen of Tucson AZ, Matt (Julie) Humphrey of Appleton, Laura (Simon) Miles of Seattle WA, Travis (Fiancé Sarah) Craft of DeForest and Tricia (Charles) Wadsworth of Stevens Point; and her 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne in 1994; sister, Patricia Weidman; and her parents.

Dessa Darlene Welch was born March 14, 1923, in Kewanee, Illinois, a daughter of Wiley and Lulu (Olson) Hanne. She graduated from Rock Island High School.
She was united in marriage to Francis G. “Frank” Welch on January 12, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois. He preceded her in death on November 8, 1990.
In earlier years she had helped the war effort at the Rock Island Arsenal, she also had worked at the former Brach’s Candy Company, PhotoMat, Kahl Home and in home care helper, and the President River Boat mail room. Dessa was instrumental in establishing the Fairmount School for Handicapped Children and Adults.
Dessa is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Catherine “Cathy” Welch of Olds, Iowa, Marcia (Larry) Wilson of Leesburg, Florida; 2 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Jeanne Welch in 1970; a granddaughter Courtney Loftus; her brothers Kenny, Neal, Wayne, Dale, and Lenny; and her sister Irene. May they rest in peace.

Jim enjoyed fishing, disc golf, woodworking, grilling out, camping, the outdoors, and Sasquatch. He also liked watching Star Trek, listening to the Coast to Coast radio show, and he was an avid Brewers, Packers, and Bucks fan.

He is survived by his brother, Mike (Mary Jo Hamilton) Smith of Brainerd, MN, and sisters, Connie Wiesemann of Marshfield, Jenny (Carl) Landowski of Scandinavia, and Tammy (Kurt) Wallig of Marshfield. He is further survived by his nieces and nephews, Chad (Kristen) Smith and their children, Ally, Beckett, and Sabrina, Shannon (James) Crone and their daughter, Lila, Justin Wiesemann, Jesse Cahn, Meagan Cahn, and Breanna Wallig.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, William Smith, and sisters, Cheryl and Karen Smith.

He was the son of Charles B. Morgan and Lottie Farley Morgan, born on October 2, 1929 in Buffalo, New York, but spent his growing up years in Albemarle County. Following his high school years, he enlisted in the US Army and proudly served his country in the Korean War. He was discharged in 1952 and became a loyal and dedicated employee of Newport News Shipbuilding. He began working as a welder but retired in 1991 as General Foreman after 39 years of service. While there he made many lifelong friends.
After retirement, William spent his time enjoying his farm in Albemarle County which is located on land that has been in his family since the Civil War. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
On November 5, 1955 he married his wife, Jeanette Stoddard Morgan. They were blessed with five beautiful children: William F. Morgan Jr. and wife, Debbie of Bristol, TN, James E. Morgan of Hampton, VA (deceased), Wade P. Morgan and wife, Alison of Schuyler, VA, Patricia A. Fairbanks and husband, Dallas of Poquoson, VA, and Steven K. Morgan and wife, Crissy of Schuyler, VA. He was a loving grandfather of 8 grandchildren and 2 greatgrandsons. He was predeceased by his son James E. Morgan, his brother Robert E. Morgan, and greatgranddaughter Natalie C. Chiesa.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Mountainside Senior Living and New Century Hospice for all of their love, support, and excellent care during the past few months.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Morgan Family Cemetery in Schuyler.
