Wayne was born in Platteville, Wisconsin the son of Ambrose and Marie (McClain) Wunderlin on January 25, 1942 the second of six children. Wayne was a 1961 graduate of Platteville High School. After graduation Wayne farmed for the next 50 years. His family deeply appreciate his stewardship of their family farm which preserved their childhood home over all these years. Wayne enjoyed ballroom dancing and eating pizza with his wife, Diane, at UNOs where they enjoyed socializing with many friends.

Wayne’s adventurous spirit reached beyond the farm when he phoned Sally Jesse Raphael to coach him on dating. His radio personality was heard across the country as he became known as “The Bachelor Farmer from Wisconsin.” Those lessons from Sally lead to his marriage to Diane Fay, his wife of 33 years. Wayne’s spiritual desire to do good works found a home with the Knights of Columbus. With their support Wayne was awarded the 4th Degree whose purpose is to foster the spirit of patriotism and encourage active Catholic citizenship. Fewer than 18% of Knights join the Fourth Degree. Wayne was also an Honor Guard for the Knights of Columbus.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Diane; brothers, Ronald (Mary Ann) of Minneapolis, MN; James (Christine) of Las Vegas, NV; Michael of Carlsbad, CA; and brother-in-law, Brian (Mary) Fay of Dubuque, IA; plus many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Birth19 September 1947Lois Ann Wunderlin was born on 19 September 1947 at Platteville, Grant, Wisconsin.
She was the daughter of Ambrose Stephen Wunderlin and Marie Anna McClain.
Death20 March 2017Lois Ann Wunderlin died on 20 March 2017 at Klamath Falls, Klamath, Oregon, at age 69 Lois Ann Stilwell passed away quietly at home on the first day of spring, March 20, 2017, at the age of 69 after surviving ovarian cancer for nearly seven years. Her courage, her husband John's devoted support and her elite medical team extended her quality of life, giving her time to travel, volunteer on community projects and organizations (Ross Ragland Theater, Assistance League, PEO and Oregon Institute of Technology Foundation board) and show us all how to gracefully embrace our mortality.
Lois was born in Platteville, Wis., to Ambrose and Marie Wunderlin, the fourth of their six children.
She is survived by Ronald (Mary Ann) of Minneapolis, Minn; Wayne (Diane) of Platteville, Wis; James (Christine) of Las Vegas, Nev; Michael of Escondido, Calif; and Diane of San Diego, Calif. John and Lois were married 32 years and his family consists of Don (Tiffney) of Ft. Meyers; Lee (Gienda) of Klamath Falls; Fred (Fran) of Klamath Falls; and step-daughter Shana (Eric) Shepherd of Central Point, Ore. There are also nieces, nephews, grandsons and granddaughters throughout Oregon, California, Florida and North Carolina, who are an important part of their lives.
After graduating with a master's degree in education, Lois followed her mother's career as an elementary and middle school teacher. Eventually, she sought a new professional challenge in the financial investment industry, working for IDS, American Express and and achieving vice president in both the home office as well as, the Greater Minnesota/Iowa Market Group.
Upon retiring in 2003, she and John built their dream home in Klamath Falls, his hometown.
Her love of the outdoors lured her to Klamath Falls. She was always ready to go, which included hiking trips to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. McLaughlin, Mt. Scott, Aspen Ridge, Europe, New Zealand and Australia.
On July 13, 2010, our lives were turned upside down as we learned that Lois had stage No. 4 ovarian cancer. We were scared and relied on the local medical group to help guide us through this seven-year ordeal. Surgery was done on July 16, 2010, by Dr. Mirande and, with assistance of our local cancer treatment center and Dr. Pejovic from Oregon Health & Science University, she was on the road to recovery. After several rounds of chemo, Lois was able to rebound and continue on her journey. She was able to make several additional trips to Europe and countless trips to Cabo.
We both enjoy working with children of all ages, including 4-H/FFA members and high school and college students. We have started several scholarships in our name, which will assist college students forever. We have been involved with "Student Athletics" and have entertained various sporting teams in our home. Having the teams in our home was truly a pleasure as you get to know the students on a personal basis.
Lois had an unequaled way of dealing with people as you were always be greeted with a smile and with highest regard. You could always depend on Lois to complete all project on time and in a professional manner. She always treated everyone with the utmost respect.
Prior to Lois passing, we decided to have one additional scholarship with a special meaning, "The Lois Ann Stilwell Scholarship," which will be limited to the medical field at Oregon Institute of Technology.
