He was born on September 3, 1940 in Sauk County the son of Harold “Neut” and Carol (Luxton) Tennant. Bob was married on August 6, 1960 to the former Janice Dietz. Bob was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church and was on the Spring Green Volunteer Fire Department for over 50 years. He worked at QMI for 17 years and Oscar Mayer’s for over 30 years. Survivors include, his wife Janice Tennant of Spring Green, 3 children, Steve (Peggy) Tennant of Lodi, Dawn Tennant and Laurie Walters of DePere, Heidi (Dan) Grosskopf of Eagle River, WI 5 grandchildren, a great granddaughter, 2 sisters, Gerry (Cecil) Schwichtenberg of Spring Green, Audrey Burkhalter of Monroe, a special nephew and niece, Dan and Kay Phetteplace of Spring Green, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Neut and Carol Tennant, a brother, Harold Tennant Jr., a brother-in-law, Harold Burkhalter and a sister-in-law Effie Tennant. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Christ Lutheran Church in Spring Green. Rev. Jennifer Johnson will officiate with burial in the Big Hollow Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the Christ Lutheran Church from 4:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. and again on Thursday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Big Hollow Lutheran Cemetery, the Carbone Cancer Center or to the UW Stroke Center. The Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Survivors include her three children, Steve (Peggy) Tennant of Lodi, Dawn Tennant and Laurie Walters of DePere, Heidi (Dan) Grosskopf of Eagle River; five grandchildren; Jered(Callie)Tennant, Malerie(Brad) Alexander, Caleb Grosskopf, Jacob (Taylor) Grosskopf, Lauren Grosskopf; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Kenny (Helen) Dietz, David Dietz; sisters-in-law, Gerry Schwichtenberg of Spring Green, Audrey Burkhalter of Monroe; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Edna Dietz; husband, Robert; siblings, Ronald, Elaine, Ruth, Ted, and Audrey.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Christ Lutheran Church in Spring Green. Pastor John Swanson will officiate with burial in the Big Hollow Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 15, 2022 at the Christ Lutheran Church from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. and again on Friday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.

He was a professor of chemistry at Lincoln, NE, Appalachian State in Boone, NC, Lake Superior State, in Sault St. Marie, MI where he received “Teacher of the Year” award, and most recently UW Eau Claire. Bill was a member of the United States Marine Corps Reserve. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and listening to “good” music. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, parents, Frank and Van Haag, and a brother-in-law, Mike Jordan. Survivors include his sisters, Sylvia Jordan, Sally Haag, Cindy Haag, Polly (Joe) Kraemer, a stepson, John David (Kearstin Richter) Klow, a step grandson, Maxwell Howard, nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, a great great niece, other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Plain with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Mass.
