Death | 30 March 2015 | Joan Leyh died on 30 March 2015 at age 80 Joan Fure, 80, of Platteville died on Monday, March 30, 2015 at Manor Care Health Services, Platteville. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Platteville. Fr. Faustino Ruiz will officiate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 6, 2015 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, or from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday, at the church. Joan was born to John and Lucienne (Pichon) Leyh on September 22, 1934 in Medford, Wisconsin. She graduated from Platteville High School in 1952. She married Francis (Kenny) Fure on September 18, 1956.
Joan was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her biggest delight was spending time with her family, including her twin sister, Joyce. She loved watching the Packers, especially Brett Favre and attended a game at the new Lambeau Field Stadium. She also loved quilting, Amish crafts, lilacs, hearing the birds sing and going to garage sales to hunt for bargains. She spent several years caring for Kenny before he was admitted to the nursing home.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years F. Kenneth Fure; and sister, Joyce Novinski; brother-in-law, Paul (Donna) Fure; sister-in-law, Florence Hoadley, both of Platteville; and sister-in-law, Ida Mae Fure of Cassville. She is also survived by 5 children: Linda (William) Koepcke of Verona, Wisconsin; Larry (Diane) Fure of Belmont, Wisconsin; Karen (Joseph) Hammes of Waukesha, Wisconsin; Stan Fure of Madison, Wisconsin; and Chris Fure (Nate Williams) of Fridley, Minnesota. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Mike Fure, Matt Fure, Aimee (Jamin) Arn, Ryan Murray, Alyssa and Jenna Hammes, and one step-granddaughter Christina (Jeff) Liepins; and 9 great-grandchildren: Simon, Christian, Joshua, Collin, Jacob, Kaitlyn, Autumn, Hunter and Jake and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Gloria Warchol; and brother-in-law, Gene Warchol; 2 infant sons, Wayne and Kevin; granddaughter, Kayla Hammes; brothers-in-law, Clarence Fure, Norbert Reuter, Gordon Hoadley; and sister-in-law, Mary Reuter. |
