She was predeceased by her husband, sons Daniel and Damian, brother Gary, and sisters Gail Welsh and Elizabeth Rempp. Dorothy graduated from Yankton High School in South Dakota and was a schoolteacher before becoming a full-time homemaker. Dorothy moved with her husband’s job from South Dakota to Richland WA, San Jose CA, Oak Ridge TN, Granville TX, Taipei Taiwan, Olympia and Tacoma WA. After Jacob’s passing she moved to Roseville CA and was able to spend time with family. Dot read voluminously and was a huge fan of TV’s Jeopardy, matching wits with the contestants at home with a score sheet in her hand. An avid quilt maker, she was an intelligent, honest, selfless, and fun. May she rest in peace. Dorothy was buried September 16, 2019 at Fir Lane Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Spanaway, WA.

Gary Eldon Doran was born July 2, 1930, in Draper, South Dakota, the son of Justin and Frances (Rempp) Doran. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Lois Lorraine Roach on September 22, 1952, in Yankton, South Dakota. He was employed as an Operating Engineer in the road construction field. They moved to Camp Verde in the early 1960's. Lois preceded him in death on July 7, 1992. He married Sharon Loraine (Berry) Evans in 1991. He was a member of the American Legion, Post # 93, in Camp Verde and the VFW in Flagstaff.

Surviving are his wife, Sharon; two step-children, Jessica Jaramillo of Cottonwood and Jamey Evans of Camp Verde; eight step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Darrel (Irene) Doran of Cincinnati, OH, and Gerald Doran of Chicago, IL; two sisters, Dorothy Sluka of Tacoma, WA and Mary Ellen Jones of Loomis, CA; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be sorely missed.
