She is survived by her five children; Sharon Sivalenka (Sambhu), Colleen Jacobus (Gene), Kelly Easton (Clifford), Michael Cullen (Sherry) and Mary Marsek (Max) and her eight loving grandchildren. Lois was a caring housewife and mother for 57 years. She was a devout Catholic and regularly attended church. She was a proud member of Christ King choir for many years and later in life she joined every choir she encountered. Until her last days she sang happily and her voice will always be remembered as a family treasure. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 30 at CHRIST KING CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2612 N. Swan Blvd., Wauwatosa, from 9:30 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.

Gene was a farmer who loved his farm and horses, building and repairing buggies and sleighs, for taking the kids on fun rides. He loved spending time with his family and friends and had the great gift of B.S.ing and socializing. He enjoyed tinkering and fixing old farm machines.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lacella, a daughter, Cindy (David) Seitz; two sons, Samuel Downing and Rick (Bernadine) Downing; three brothers, Roger (Linda) Downing, Gaylord (Irene) Downing and Nolen (Janice) Downing; four grandchildren, Billy Jo, Thomas, Tiffany and Kristopher; four great-grandchildren, Kailey, Ethan, Gabriel, and Clayton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Anthony; a sister Sharon; four brothers, Ernest, David, Ronald, and Richard; and stepbrother Eddie Birdd.

Funeral services for Gene will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Thompson Funeral Home, 402 Center St. Wonewoc, with the Rev. Peter Snyder officiating. Friends may call from noon until the time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
