Ila is survived by 5 children: Ruth Ann (Morgan) Martensen of Hazel Green, WI, Ron (Sandy) Sampson of Cuba City, WI, Marcia (Tom) Rupp of Hazel Green, WI, Ted (Amy) Sampson of Cuba City, WI and Walt (Karla) Sampson of Hartford, WI; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Swart of Platteville, WI; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wayne (August 25, 1993) and a brother, John “Elton” Kies.

He was born on April 3, 1919, in Oakfield, son of Louis J. and Anna M. (Bord) Miesen. He married Loretta C. Reuter on Jan. 14, 1941. They were married 68 years. Farming was his livelihood and his life.

He was a member of Holy Ghost Parish since 1941, the Catholic Order of Foresters Court 876 since 1936, the Farm Bureau and AMPI.

Emil loved to travel. He liked music, especially dancing, singing and whistling. Emil enjoyed his family, especially teasing his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Loretta, of Platteville; three daughters, Marietta (Jerry) Pitzen, of Cuba City, Charlotte (Jim) Kowalski, of Dickeyville, and Catherine (Richard) Wagner, of Cuba City; three sons, Francis (Dorothy) Miesen, of Potosi, Larry (Ann) Miesen, of Cuba City, and Maynard (Rita) Miesen, of Platteville; a brother, Harold Miesen, of Dubuque; 23 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Anna Miesen; and two sisters, Bertha Loeffelholz and Irene Digman.

Together he & Dorothy worked on the family farm for over 50 years and he sold Dairyland Seed for 35 years. He was a member of the US National Guard. Francis enjoyed farming, fishing, trips to Branson & the Dells, an avid card player that loved a good joke, playing with his grandkids, going to Katina’s Restaurant in Dickeyville, WI, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Francis is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Dorothy; 7 children: Cheryl (Dean) Drew of Fennimore, WI, Angela Miesen of Belmont, WI, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Miesen, Brian (Ann) Miesen both of Platteville, WI, Daniel Miesen of Belmont, WI, Michael (Stephanie) Miesen of Edgerton, WI and Karla (Jeff) Gratz of Lancaster, WI; 18 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren with one on the way; 3 sisters: Marietta (Jerry) Pitzen, Charlotte (Jim) Kowalski and Catherine (Richard) Wagner; 2 brothers: Larry (Ann) Miesen and Maynard (Rita) Miesen, along with nieces and nephews.

He enjoyed antiquing with Sharon up north, tinkering on cars, mowing his yard, old country music, hunting with his brother Edward, Nascar racing and wrestling fan, but most of all time spent with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

After the military, Mike continued with his education at UW-Platteville and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and worked for the City of Dubuque as an Engineering Technician. Mike enjoyed watching sports, especially the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers & Wisconsin Badgers, playing poker with his friends, hunting, target shooting, motorcycles, vacationing with friends, but most of all, spending time with his family, friends, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephew. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Betty was passionate about teaching and enjoyed the many years and children she had taught. She first taught at Leslie School, a one room school house in rural, WI; Belmont Grade School and retired from Cuba City Grade School with over 25 years of teaching.

She married Ralph A. Iverson on July 22, 1953 in Dubuque, IA and through the years helped with the daily chores on the farm with Ralph. Betty enjoyed baking, cooking, spending time with her friends and most of all time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Betty is survived by 2 daughters: Machelle (M. Terry) Hefel of Hazel Green, WI & Melanie Willis of Cuba City, WI; 4 grandchildren: Karissa Gabel of Cuba City, WI; Kenney (Chris) Schlarmann of Cuba City, WI, Ryan Schroeder of Hazel Green, WI and Destiny Willis of Cuba City, WI; 3 great-grandchildren: Elijah, Ava & Thea and a sister, Pat (Dean) Dahms of Maryland.

Ted loved to golf and fish, watching the Green Bay Packers & the Chicago Cubs, but his greatest passion was cooking and he taught his 3 daughters well. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Death4 December 2016Howard J. Runde died on 4 December 2016 at age 86 Howard J. Runde, 86, of Sinsinawa, WI passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Epione Pavilion in Cuba City, WI. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 9th at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Sinsinawa, WI with Father Ken Frisch officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph’s Church Cemetery in Sinsinawa, WI. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 8th at the Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI and on Friday, December 9th from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.

Howard was born on September 5, 1930 to George & Imelda (Wiegman) Runde at his family’s home in Cuba City, WI. He married Judith M. McGrath on September 28, 1963 in Dubuque, IA. He was a lifelong resident of Sinsinawa, WI and farmed his whole life on the family farm.

He was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph’s Holy Name Society. He enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, Wisconsin Badgers, Milwaukee Brewer’s and the Green Bay Packers, but most of all he enjoyed time spent with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Howard is survived by his loving wife, Judy; a daughter, Jill (Greg) Busch of Benton, WI; a son, Jason (Becky) Runde of Hazel Green, WI; 4 grandchildren: Jacob & Jordan Busch, Michaela & Allison Runde; a sister, Mary Louise Pusateri of Dubuque, IA; 2 brothers-in-law: James (Ruth Ann) McGrath of Davenport, IA and Daniel (Connie) McGrath of Dubuque, IA; a sister-in-law: Kay McGrath of Dubuque, IA; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Craig (March 24, 2015) and 2 brothers-in-law: Michael Pusateri and Gerald McGrath.
