He was born on September 7, 1926 in Lime Ridge, the son of William and Anna (Schultz) Koenig. LaVerne was a graduate of Lime Ridge High School. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army. On June 10, 1949, he was married to the former Enola Weseloh. LaVerne was a lifelong farmer in the Town of Westfield, Sauk County. He was also a lifetime member of St. John Lutheran Church in Loganville. LaVerne enjoyed spending his winters in Arizona for over twenty years.



Survivors include his four children: Harley (Pam) Koenig, of Reedsburg; Barb (Leo) Schneider, of DeForest; Dean (Tammy) Koenig, of Hickory, NC and Bev (Tom) Keel, of Reedsburg; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great- grandchildren; a sister-in-law: Betty Weseloh, of Baraboo; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife: Enola, in January 2019; his brother: Edmund (Bertha) Koenig; and his brother-in-law: Marvin Weseloh.



Private family services will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at St. John Lutheran Church in Loganville with Pastor Tim Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the Reedsburg Area Veterans Honor Guard. There will be a visitation from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg. Face masks and social distancing will be required at the visitation.

Long Sr. Together they started farming in Richland County for several years. They later moved to Hillpoint and Marcella started working at Hankscraft in Reedsburg. Marcella was a huge fan of the Milwaukee Brewers. She enjoyed working with her flowers and gardening, cooking especially making her potato salad and pies for her family, word puzzles and playing cards.

Survivors include her children: Sharon Schulte (Rollie), of Hillpoint; Verne (Mary) Long Jr., of Cottage Grove and Cheryle Lucht (Ernie), of Wonewoc; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; three sisters: Avis DeMars Roessler, Yvonne Fosdick and Judie (Richard) Ellett; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: Verne, on April 14, 2014; one grandson: Bryan Schulte; two sons-in-law: Roger Hasse and Martin Lucht; one sister: Betty Erickson and five brothers: Harold, Bill, Irvin, Kenneth and Jerry Smith.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg. Interment will be in the Lime Ridge Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

He was born on March 4, 1928 in Madison to Dr. James A. and Agnes (Hovey) Weigen, Sr. On June 10,1964, he was united in marriage to Carroll Retzlaff. Chuck was a lifelong resident of Sun Prairie. He operated the Weigen Variety Stores in Sun Prairie and Waterloo for 16 years. He was a member of the Parkside Presbyterian Church in Madison. Chuck had a great love for music and was a member of the church choir and was also an elder. He was a member of the Sun Prairie Masonic Lodge #143 F.&A.M. He was also a Past Master of the Masonic Lodge, a member of the 32nd Degree Scottish Rites of Madison, a longtime member of the Madison Bowling Association, and he served as president of the Madison Bowling Association. On August 13, 1981 Chuck was inducted into the Madison Bowling Hall of Fame. He was a member and past president of the Sun Prairie Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Sun Prairie New Business Welcoming Committee. In 1960, Chuck earned the Madison Distinguished Salesman Award while working for the Olson-Veerhusen Co. Survivors include his wife, Carroll; three children, Timothy, a student at UW-Platteville, James Herbert and Cynthia, both students at UW-Oshkosh; his mother, Mrs. Agnes Weigen; a brother, Thomas (Janice); two sisters-in-law, Fern (James, Jr.) Weigen, and Maxentia (Herman) Gomes, all of Sun Prairie; four nieces; four nephews; and an uncle, Peter Hovey of Wlllmar, MN. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. James Weigen, Sr. and a brother James, Jr. Funeral services will be held at the Parkside Presbyterian Church, 4002 Lien Rd., Madison, at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, November 3, 1988, with Rev. E. Elwood Carey officiating. Burial will be in Spring Prairie Lutheran Cemetery in Keyeser, WI. Donald was born on October 19, 1942 in Madison, WI, the son of Robert and Olive (Brown) Retzlaff. He was employed as a line worker for UAW Chrysler in Belvidere, IL. Donald was an avid antique dealer and collector his whole life. He spent years as a vender at the Kane County Flea Market in St. Charles, IL. Donald refinished antique furniture and remodeled many old homes that he lived in. He enjoyed animals and most especially his dogs later in life. Donald was an active volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul in Mississippi while he lived there in his retirement years.

Donald is survived by his children, Kelly Flora, Patrick (Annette) Retzlaff, and Heather (George) Busby; grandchildren, Dillon Flora, Jamise and Skyler Retzlaff, Gabrielle Votaw and Nathaniel Heeter; and 3 great grandchildren.

Death30 August 2010Dale Thomas Moore died on 30 August 2010 at age 57 Dale Moore, age 57 of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin died unexpectedly Monday, August 30, 2010 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Wisconsin Dells with Reverend Joan Smoke officiating. Burial will be at Lake Delton Village Cemetery in Lake Delton, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held at Holy Cross Episcopal Church on Friday from 4 to 7 P.M. and on Saturday from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 11 A.M.
Dale was born May 13, 1953 in Reedsburg, Wisconsin the son of Arthur and Lois (Retzlaff) Moore. He graduated from Reedsburg High School in 1971 and furthered his education at UW-Baraboo, receiving an associate degree. In May of 1975 he married Jean Stevens at Holy Cross Episcopal Church. He was a realtor for many years, owning and operating Home Hunters Realty in Reedsburg. He was a member of the Wisconsin Realtors Association and was a certified appraiser and auctioneer. Dale was involved in his community serving as president of the Sauk/Columbia Board of Realtors, member of the Mirror Lake Property Owners Association and Mirror Lake Management District, served on the Holy Cross Church Vestry, and was a member of the Dells/Delton Church Corporation Board. Dale also enjoyed hunting, fishing, pontoon boating, tinkering on vintage cars, working on his hobby farm and cutting fire wood.
Dale is survived by his wife, Jean; sons, Kirk (Stephanie) of Fox Lake, Wisconsin and Mark (Kathryn Heitman) of Wisconsin Dells; daughters, Laura (Chad) Colt of St. Paul, Minnesota and Mary Jean Moore of Wisconsin Dells; grandchildren, Jasmine and Isabelle Moore; his father, Arthur Moore of Reedsburg; a sister, Ardith Porter of Madison, Wisconsin; and a niece, Jamie Porter of Madison. He was preceded in death by his mother; brother in law, Julius Porter and a nephew, Matthew Porter.
