Greg was born December 14, 1954 in Dubuque, the son of Andrew Jr. and Betty (Rupp) Swartz. He graduated from Dubuque Senior High School. He married Karen Tait on April 25, 1987 in San Diego, CA.
Greg was employed as an electrician and HVAC at Mystique Casino/Dubuque Greyhound Park, retiring in 2010. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, and camping. Greg knew how to have a good time and enjoyed life to the fullest.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Karen; his son, Jeff Swartz; his brother Ron (Peg) Swartz; and his sister, Annette (Buck) Reed, all of Dubuque; his sisters-in-law, Patricia Swartz of Dubuque and Kathy Ouradnik of Olathe, KS; and his brothers-in-law, Phil (Brenda) Tait of Morganton, NC and Dave (Jan) Tait of Portland, OR.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Andrew P. Swartz III; and his mother and father-in-law, Roger and Betty Tait.
