In additon to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Needham. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005, at CONCORDIA UNITED METHODIST CHURCH at 10:30 a.m. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Death22 November 2006Eileen Esther Vogt died on 22 November 2006 at age 89 On Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006, the family of Eileen Esther (Vogt) Walker gathered at her bedside as she took her final journey Home. Eileen was born Jan. 12, 1917, to Frank and Esther (Taylor) Vogt in Glen Haven. During the epidemic of 1918, she was stricken with polio, but lived a full life in spite of the lasting effects of this illness. She graduated from Mount Hope High School, attended Madison Vocational School and was employed as a stenographer. On May 27, 1939, she married Wilbur Walker at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Boscobel. They later moved to Mazomanie, where they were faithful members of St. Barnabas Catholic Church. They celebrated 50 years of marriage there in 1989. Their deep faith was a comfort and inspiration to their family. Eileen and Wilbur were blessed with seven daughters and a son, Sharon Feiner, Connie (Ronnie) Adler, Monica (Larry Pauley), Margie (Jim Boisen), Paulette (Ron) Smith, Betsy (Mike) Needham, Patty (Loren) Paulson and Tony (JoDee) Walker. Eileen was very proud of her family and will be dearly missed by her children, 32 grandchildren and 60 great-grandchildren. Survivors also include her sister, Doris Friar; sisters-in-law, Marie Vogt and Blanche Edge; and many special nieces, nephews, her "tea time" friends and others. Over the years Eileen made beautiful quilts and blankets that were admired and cherished by their recipients. In 1976, she participated in the making of the Dane County Bicentennial Quilt. She was actively involved with the "Linus Project" and made wonderful blankets for babies and children everywhere. She made these special blankets and retained a wonderful sense of humor up until her last days. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilbur; four grandsons; and her brother, Alvin Vogt. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BARNABAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Mazomanie, at noon on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, with Father Jason Hesseling officiating. Burial will follow in St. Barnabas Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Barnabas Catholic Church or Home Health United Hospice. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Sharon, Monica and Larry, for their loving care of Mom/ Grandma since the death of Wilbur, in 1997.
