Longtime Delta County resident, Enola H. Stockham, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at the Delta County Memorial Hospital. She was 96 years of age.

Enola Hazel Fedde was born September 6, 1916 in Holly, Colorado to George and Anna Kent Fedde. She attended schools in Towner and Holly.

She married John Kenneth Herrick on March 31, 1933. They lived briefly in eastern Colorado before moving to Del Norte, Colorado. Their first four children were born in the San Luis Valley. They then moved to Paonia, purchasing the Rovart Orchards just above Paonia. Enola worked alongside her husband on the fruit farm. Six more children were born before they divorced in 1961. In 1988, she moved back to Paonia and met and married John Stockham. They were married for 18 years before he passed away at Colorow Care Center on March 1, 2006.

Enola mothered numerous foster children. She worked hard all her life many times doing a man's job and never complained. She taught her children to work hard, love the Lord and be good citizens.
