Assisting in serving were Mesdames J. A. Clutter, L. S. Peter and McMurray Richey. Mrs. W. L. Payne, in costume, sang two of Stephen Collins Foster's songs, accompanied by Miss Jewell Carey. The hostess' daughter, Mrs. Helen Kerr, gave a group of piano numbers. In charge of the guest book were Mesdames W. K. White, C. R. Landon, A. Bronkhorst, and R. R. McAnelly, while sophomore mothers who "initiated" the freshmen were Mesdames H. A. Kiser, T. H. Freeman and W. W. Todd. One hundred guests called during the afternoon. In April 1961 at Women's Club, San Antonio, Bexar, Texas, elected member of the board.
