In 1887 Mr. Parkhurst died at Marshfield, leaving a family of ten children. Mrs. Parkhurst then moved to Hillsboro where she lived about five years, She then moved with her family to Reedsburg where she lived until 1913, being then married to W. N. Green and moved to North Dakota. She has since made her home in the west.

May 9, 1920 she came from Idaho to visit her children and shortly after was taken ill and died May 26, at the home of her son, George Parkhurst of Hillsboro.

She leaves to mourn her loss a husband, W. N. Green of Idaho who was unable to get here, four sons, Albert of Fairfield, Iowa, George of Hillsboro, Ervin of Reedsburg and Herbert, one daughter, Mrs. Henry White of Reedsburg, a brother, Albert Pierce of LaValle, a sister, Mrs. Frank Horton of Spokane, Wash.

The remains were brought to Reedsburg and funeral services held Thursday p.m. at 2:30 o'clock at the home of her son, Ervin Parkhurst conducted by Mrs. E. E. Bishop. She was laid to rest in Greenwood cemetery.

Julia was a charter member of the Richland County Liners Homemakers Club, starting in 1965. Julia loved her Irish heritage, and took the opportunity to do the Irish jig whenever she got the chance. She also enjoyed making candles for numerous celebrations. Julia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry in May 1996; three brothers, William, Francis and twin brother, Henry; three sisters, Monica, Florence (Keith) and Ann (Charles); and brothers-in-law, Jack and Ken. She is survived by her children, Ronald (Pat) Alt of Lone Rock, Lawrence (Sue) Alt of Lone Rock, Rose Ann (Steve) Bennett of Denver, Colo., John (Joan) Alt of Spring Green, and Bernard (Kelly) Alt of Lone Rock; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Oder of Richland Center, and Mary Logan of Albuquerque, N.M; along with many other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial for Julia Alt will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2008, at ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Loreto with Father Lorin Bowens and Father Michael Resop concelebrating. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Memorials of remembrance may be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church. The Farber Funeral Home of Reedsburg is assisting the family.
