He was born on Aug. 17, 1917, the son of Jacob and Amelia (Dischler) Heiser on a farm in Plain where he was raised. He was married on Feb. 24, 1941, to the former Dorothy Ann Brickl. Cyril was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church in Plain and the Catholic Order of Foresters. Cyril was a lifelong farmer and loved horses, driving tractors, fishing, hunting and playing cards with friends and family. He enjoyed meeting and sharing life stories and jokes with everyone he met. He loved to sing and always had a smile. He will be missed greatly by his family and everyone who knew him. We love you Daddy! Survivors include his wife, of 68 years, Dorothy Ann Heiser; eight children, Cyril (Marge) Heiser Jr., Kenneth (Betty) Heiser, Keith (Judy) Heiser, Anna Mae (David) Leikness, Karl Heiser, Linda (William) Kulow, Sandi (Phillip) Norland, and Laurie Heiser; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Elmer (Myrna) Heiser; two sisters, Rita (Bob) Sherrer and Florentine Ruhland; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Amelia Heiser; a sister, Irene Ruhland; a brother, William Heiser; and two brothers-in-law, John and Alfred Ruhland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at ST. LUKE'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Plain. Father Mike Resop will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the Staff at Greenway Manor, Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital and Meriter Hospital for their wonderful care.
