She was born on May 6, 1937 in Sauk County, the daughter of August and Martha (Wawrock) Schlieckau Sr. She attended Friendship Rural School and was a graduate of Reedsburg High School. On May 4, 1957, she married Richard C. Schultz, of Wonewoc. Beverly faithfully farmed alongside Richard for 37 years in the Wonewoc area before retiring and moving to Lake Redstone in rural LaValle. During retirement, she enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking, playing cards and extensive motor coach traveling. Survivors include her husband, Richard; four children: Audrey (Larry) Dobberfuhl, of Daniel Island, SC; Ardith (Craig) Schroeder, of Wonewoc; Carl (Brenda) Schultz, of Plainfield, IL and Mark Schultz, of Baraboo; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; her siblings: Dorothy Albers, of Sun Prairie; Adeline (Joe) Stimac, of Milwaukee; Walter (Alva) Schlieckau, of Loganville; Marion Roecker, of Reedsburg and Henry (Jan) Schlieckau, of Reedsburg; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Harold and August Schlieckau Jr. and two sisters: Frieda Craker and Louise White. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 28, 2015 at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Wonewoc with Pastor Steven Neyhart officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery at Wonewoc. The family will receive friends from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service on Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials can be made to St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, foyer project. A celebration of life luncheon for all friends and family will be held on Monday, December 28th at the Voyeur Inn in Reedsburg following the interment. The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family.

He was born on Oct. 24, 1934, in the Town of Westfield, Sauk County, the son of August and Martha (nee Wawrock) Schlieckau. Harold was a 1952 graduate of Webb High School. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the U.S. Army. On Sept. 5, 1959, he was married to the former Beverly L. Schmidt. Harold was a lifelong area dairy farmer. He was an advocate for soil conservation and was given an award for his efforts. Harold was also a Jung's corn seed dealer for many years. He was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Loganville. Harold was a member of the Board of Directors for the R.S. & L Co-op and was an active member of the Hillpoint V.F.W. Post #3434. He enjoyed dancing, football and visiting with his friends and neighbors. Survivors include his wife, Beverly; four children, Thomas (Linda) Schlieckau of North Freedom, Brian (Judy) Schlieckau of Loganville, Linda (Curtis) Bowe of Reedsburg and Kurt (Janis) Schlieckau of North Freedom; 11 grandchildren; six sisters, Frieda Craker of Reedsburg, Dorothy Albers of Reedsburg, Marion (Edwin) Roecker of Reedsburg, Louise (Dwayne) White, of Reedsburg, Adeline (Joe) Stimac of Milwaukee and Beverly (Richard) Schultz of LaValle; three brothers, Walter (Alva) Schlieckau of Loganville, Henry (Jan) Schlieckau of Reedsburg and August Schlieckau of Reedsburg; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a nephew, Richard Roecker. Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2007, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Loganville with Pastor Christopher Miller officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery with military rites accorded by the Hillpoint V.F.W. Post #3434. The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 p.m. on Friday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Peter's Lutheran Church Organ Fund would be appreciated.

He belonged to the Consistory and Zor shrine in Madison. He was a director of the Farmers and Merchants bank. Surviving are his wife, the former Valera Riggert; two daughters, Mrs. Donald Oncken, Stoughton, and Mrs. Ralph Carlson, Norwalk, CT., six grand-children; two brothers, Kenneth, Madison; and Sidney, in Florida; and two sisters, Mrs. Esther Coleman, Viroqua; and Miss Mabel Tuhus, Madison. Survivors include his wife, Alice; one son, John Riggert of Madison; three daughters, Jane (Douglas) Riggert-Thompson of Madison, Mary (Alan) Hendrickson of Whitewater and Janet Riggert of Pewaukee; four grandsons; Eric and David Riggert-Thompson, Michael and Christopher Hendrickson; and his sister Jeanette Riggert of Madison. Private family graveside services were held on Saturday at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Reedsburg with Dr. James Steinbrecher officiating. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. DeathJuly 1935Minnie Holdwedel died in July 1935 at age 69 Funeral services were held Wednesday at the St. John's Lutheran church in Baraboo for Mrs. Minnie Holdwedel Riggert, widow of Otto Riggert, who died in a Chicago hospital on Monay evening. Burial took place in the Reedsburg cemetery. About 3 1/2 years ago, Mrs. Riggert moved to Chicago following the death of her husand to live with her daughter, Mrs. Ralph Stover. She is survived by her daughter, and a son, Henry Riggert, both of Chicago, 3 brothers, 1 sister and four foster sisters, who make their home in this vicinity. She was born in Marien Verder, Germany, January 22, 1866, and came to this country when she was four years old. The first eight years the family lived in Penn., and then moved to Ableman where they resided for many years. Mr. and Mrs. Riggert were married in Chicago on April 12, 1891, and lived there until 12 years ago when they moved to Baraboo. Taken from the Reedsburg Times of 7-26-1935.
  • Minnie Holdwedel witnessed the death of Arthur Riggert in September 1898 at Wisconsin; Arthur Riggert, a 2 year old child, died at the home of Herman Riggert last Saunday. Mrs. Otto Riggert, the mother, had been visiting here sometime and Mr. Riggert, the father came up immediately to attend the funeral. They returned home today. To this union four children were born, Lucille, Valesca, Marvin and Raymond. All survive their mother. Funeral services were held at the Gant Funeral Home on August 8 at 1:30 p.m. with interment at Loganville. Services were conducted by Rev. L. Schneider of St. John's Lutheran church, of which Mrs. Riggert was a member. Mrs. Riggert moved with her children to this city ten years ago. During her stay in Reedsburg she made many sincere friends; her passing has been keenly felt in a large group of her associates. Besides the children, she is survived by five sisters: Mrs. F. C. Eckstein, Waverly, Ia., Mrs. Herman Gluth, Mrs. Albert Gluth, Mrs. Aug. Yeck of Loganville and Mrs. Esther Landingham of Ames, Iowa. Marie's family were Volga Germans who emigrated to the New World in 1913. After the family had short stays in Winnipeg and Idaho, Marie Spreuer was born in Brush, Colo., on Feb. 3, 1919, and her family moved to Oshkosh in 1923. Marie began kindergarten at Roosevelt Elementary School in the year that school first opened. She graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1937 and married her beloved husband the Rev. Edmund Baumgarten in October 1940, in Oshkosh. Marie glorified and served God by dedicating her life to joyously serving her church, her family and her community. Marie is survived by her sons Paul (Dee) Baumgarten of Papillion, Neb., Rev. Thomas (Paula Jean) Baumgarten of Minoqua, Wis., Rev. Jonathan (Marian) Baumgarten of River Forest, Ill., and Edward Baumgarten of Oshkosh, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a brother-in-law Melvin Baumgarten of Loganville, and special friends Angie and Hunter Berholtz. She was preceded in death by her husband Edmund, her parents George and Anna Spreuer, her brother Jacob Spreuer and two sisters Elizabeth Alwin and Elsie Lautenschlager, her parents-in-law, and several brothers-and sisters-in-law. Marie's new life will be celebrated on Wednesday, Dec. 14, at Zion Lutheran Church, 400 North Sawyer St., in Oshkosh with a visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 10 a.m. The family will then escort Marie to St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Loganville, Wis., where there will be a brief graveside prayer service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are encouraged to Bethel Foundation, 225 N.
