She was married to George Held on July 20, 1927 in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and he preceded her in death on March 20, 1975. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her son, Gilbert Held on February 20, 2011; her son-in-law: Dwayne Greer; 4 sisters; 6 brothers; 2 half brothers and 3 half sisters.

She is survived by her children: Eleanor (Fred) Montgomery of Reedsburg

We honor her life with a funeral service on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Reedsburg with Pastor Paul Crolius officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-8 P.M. at the Farber Funeral Home and again on Wednesday at the church from 10 A.M. until the time of service. The family requests memorials of remembrance be made to St. Peter’s Ladies Aid.

He was a retired farmer and operated a service station for about 30 years near Versailles.
Funeral services held at Kidwell Garber Funeral Home with Dr. William Seathoff o fficiating. Mrs. Mike Homan and Mrs. Dean Homan sang. Organ by Mrs. Johnnie Shad. Honorary pallbearers: Earnest Houseworth, Moss McDonald, Bud Blacksten, Norman Thompson, Barney O'Neal and Ray Allee. Active pall bearers: Aubrey Huffman. M.F. "Bud" Ayres, Gene Bartram, Ted Hitchcock, Bert Marshall, Darrell Goodman and Chester Daniels. Interment in the Versailles cemetery.
