Birth30 September 1925Wilfred Edwin Kaney Jr. was born on 30 September 1925 at Melrose Park, Cook, Illinois.
He was the son of Wilfred Edwin Kaney Sr. and Madelyn A. Dorow.
Marriage3 October 1945Wilfred Edwin Kaney Jr. married Betty Margurite Baldwin at Long Beach, Los Angeles, California, on 3 October 1945.
Death28 November 2002Wilfred Edwin Kaney Jr. died on 28 November 2002 at San Luis Obispo, San Luis Obispo, California, at age 77 Wilfred "Bill" E. Kaney, former Colton mayor and wholesale meat businessman, never gave anyone just a job. Family members say he was more interested in providing opportunities.

Kaney's business, Inland Empire Meat Co./ Kaney Foods in Colton, supplied Inland Empire restaurants, schools and retail stores with frozen foods for more than 30 years. It also provided his family with valuable career experience.

Kaney died Thursday at his home in San Luis Obispo. He was 77.

"He was a very dedicated and unselfish individual," said David Kaney, Bill's son. The Redlands resident said that much of his family, including cousins, nieces and nephews, still carry on what he called the "Bill Kaney heritage."

Though the business was sold around 1989, much of Kaney 's family is still involved in the food business. David owns Brisket's Gourmet Deli and Restaurant in Redlands. Another of Kaney 's sons, Michael, owns Cattaneo Brothers, a sausage and beef jerky processing facility in San Luis Obispo.

A third son, Patrick, owns Newport Seafoods, a fresh fish processing plant in Seattle.

Born in Illinois, Kaney moved to Southern California from Wisconsin at 18. He worked as a quartermaster in San Pedro and later opened a meat market in Buena Park.

He joined Selma Dressed Beef Co. in Colton in 1952 and in 1955 bought out the Colton branch and opened Inland Empire Meat Co.

The business began as a small local meat-processing company, but gradually grew to a frozen-foods distribution company with three Southern California facilities that distributed nationally and overseas.

Kaney was president of the National Frozen Foods Association and the National Meat Purveyors Association. He served on the Department of Agricultural Advisory Committee on Meat and Poultry Inspections during the Reagan Administration.

He became active in politics and served on the Colton Planning Commission in the late 1960s. He later served in the Colton City Council and as mayor from 1970 to 1972.

"He brought Stater Bros. to the city," said Kaney 's son, Michael. "A lot of the water and sewer projects were upgraded in the city. He continued the sister program with Quintanilla, Mexico, where Colton supplied fire trucks."

Kaney served on the Board of Directors of St. Bernardine Medical Center and was executive director of the hospital foundation. He was active in the Future Farmers of America and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Colton.

In addition to his sons David, Michael and Patrick, Kaney is survived by his wife, Betty; three other sons, James, Mark and Paul, all of San Luis Obispo; a daughter, Mary Holliday of San Luis Obispo; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Charlotte Barton of Wisconsin.

Services were Saturday in San Luis Obispo. Reis Chapel in San Luis Obispo handled arrangements.

She was the daughter of Mathias Luke Bollweg and Anna Cecelia Kaney.
Marriage1946Helen E. Bollweg married Harry Franklin Yuill in 1946.
Death18 January 2020Helen E. Bollweg died on 18 January 2020 at Pennsylvania at age 97 Helen Yuill was born during the “Roaring Twenties” in 1922, in a suburb west of Chicago, Il. She was the identical twin sister of Evelyn, and younger sister of Dorothy and Alice. The four girls grew up during the Great Depression with their parents Matthias and Anna Bollweg, who provided a stable family home during that difficult economic time and the WWII years that followed.

In 1946, she met and married Harry Yuill, a young army officer returning from five years of combat in the South Pacific and spent her life as the devoted military wife who moved her household and family around the world following her husband’s transfers.

He was from North Dakota and she from Illinois, but because they fell in love with the San Francisco Bay Area, they decided to set up a permanent residence in Burlingame in the 1950s even though they continued a peripatetic military life. Finally, they were able to retire back to their cherished home on the San Francisco Peninsula in 1966. They enjoyed many years together in the Bay Area, especially a passion for golf, until Harry’s passing in 1989. Helen moved to Pennsylvania in 2005 to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She continued to travel and enjoyed being a part of her family’s lives. She has now joined Harry in the next life. Helen lived a long and full life. She was active, mentally sharp and in very good health until near the end. She was the last living member of her family’s generation and will be greatly missed by her children and their spouses, Mark and Marianne, Kathy, Linda and Dave, and her grandchildren Melanie and Joe, Matthew, Gregory, and Phillip.

She will be interred with Harry in Golden Gate National Cemetery. A memorial mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Angels Church, 1721 Hillside Drive, Burlingame, at a date to be announced.

The deeds have been passed and construction of the new course will be started in the so as to have It ready for play in 1924. An impression prevailing in some quarters that a new organization is behind the project is erroneous. Westward Ho is one of the oldest clubs in tho Chicago district, numbering many prominent golfers in its membership, a number of whom are now associated with the Oak Park Country club or have moved to other sections of the city. Club members will use tho present course this season. Lucky to Get Trac - Westward Ho is fortunate in having come into possession of the 200 acres on which the now course will be constructed. It is well adapted to golf, and the course as planned by Stewart Gardner of Exmoor and Frank Adams, the club professional, will measure approximately 6,500 yards and can be lengthened to 6,700. The land contains a lot of peat, and Gardner has the officers of a growth of turf. Edward H. Lyon, 180 North Market street, the new secretary, states there are a few vacancies in the list of 300. New members will have the privilege of playing over the old, course this season, and initiation fees for 1924 have been waived by the board of governors. The officers are President, W. J. Boyd; first vice president, C. J. Bassler: second President, G. H. Mason: secretary. Edwin H. Lyon: treasurer. C. L. Nichols.
