Daniel was very creative with metal sculpturing and was the founder of Montana Iron Works. He married Victoria Olsen. Daniel will be deeply missed by his wife, Victoria; children, Dru (Caryn) and Dani Lee (Cyndi); and granddaughter, Angela. He is further survived by his siblings, Richard (Vicki), Diane Harrison, David (Katrina), Debra (Kent) Partridge, and Dixie; brother-in-law, Richard (Ann) Olsen; sisters-in-law, Debra (Phillip) Iturbide and Kathryn Olsen; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, James and Norma; parents-in-law, Everett (LaVerne) Olsen; and a brother-in-law, Everett "Skip" Olsen. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, at the PHILLIP FUNERAL HOME in West Bend with Pastor John E. Sumwalt officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home in West Bend on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. The Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend is assisting the family.

Vicki was born on Jan. 9, 1947, to Everett and Laverne (nee Natvig) in Madison. Vicki graduated from Monona Grove High School in 1965. She was baptized, confirmed and later married Daniel Sumwalt on Aug. 27, 1966, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Madison. Daniel preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 2009. Vicki spent many years working at Sage Nursing Home, Amity Leather and most recently at Stitch & Time. She was also vice president of the Montana Iron Works.

Vicki was an accomplished singer. She not only enjoyed singing in the choir, but also earned many medals in singing competitions. Vicki was also runner-up in the Miss Madison East Pageant in 1964. Vicki was also an avid reader and loved the ladies’ outings. She further enjoyed canoeing, camping trips and, most of all, spending every moment possible with her family.

Vicki is survived by her loving sons, Dru (Caryn) Sumwalt and Dani (Maureen) Sumwalt; granddaughter, Angela; and Maureen’s son, Josh. She is further survived by her brother, Richard (Ann) Olsen; sister, Deborah (Phill) Iturbide; sister-in-law, Kathryn Olsen; special great-aunt, Mary Jane (Ven) Cypher; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Vicki is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel; parents, Everett and Laverne; brother, Ev-erett “Skip” Olsen; and in-laws, James (Norma) Sumwalt.
A celebration of Vicki's life will be held at noon on Saturday, Oct. 23, at Vicki’s home.

Skip is survivedby his wife and best friend of 25 years, Kathryn; two daughters, Tiffanie Olsen and Jennifer O' Connor; two grandchildren, Amber and Aaron;a brother, Richard (Ann); and two sisters, Vicki (Dan) Sumwalt and Debi (Phill) Iturbide. He was preceded in death by his parents. A celebration of Skip' s life will be held at KATHRYN AND SKIP' S HOME,31 Fairlane Ct., Madison, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Thursday, May 22, 2008.
