After the wedding dinner was served to approximately 60 guests at the Parish Hall in Marion. Tuesday evening another dinner was sponsored by all the Juffer relatives which was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed De Vos. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Juffer will make their home in Yankton where his is employed by the Great Northern Railroad. Mrs. Juffer was employed as a clerk at the Temple Dept. Store in Marion before her marriage.1

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon April 4, 1944 at one o'clock at the home and at one-thirty at the Central Reformed Church with Rev. R. D. Meengs officiating. Burial was made at the local cemetery and acting as pall bearers were six sons, Richard, Elmer, Wilmer and Harry Juffer, Jake Koolbeck and Ed De Vos. Mr. Juffer was born in the Netherlands on Nov. 14, 1868 and spent the past 55 years living in this community. On March 1st Mr. and Mrs. Juffer observed their Golden wedding anniversary.

On August 4, 1875 and was united in marriage to Dick Juffer on March 1, 1894. Her husband preceded her in death on March 31, 1944. Twelve children were born to them, ten of whom now survive namely Mary (Mrs. Ed De Vos) of Sioux Center; Winnie (Mrs. Harvey Muilenburg) of California, Herman of LeMars, Richard, Elmer, Wilmer and James all of Sioux Center, Kathryn (Mrs. Gilbert Grooters) of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Elsie (Mrs. Jake Koolbeck) of Garner; and Harry of Yankton, S. D. She is further survived by 20 grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. Alice Schut, Mrs. Josie Klomp, Mrs. Mary Lokborst and Mrs. Elizabeth Zwarts, and two brothers Gerrit Zwarts and Ralph Zwartz. Two brothers Henry Zwarts and a sister Mrs. John De Weerd preceded her in death, besides her husband and the two children who died in infancy. Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at the home and at the Central Reformed Church. Rev. P. A. De Jong, pastor of the First Reformed Church officiated at the services. Burial took place at the local community cemetery and acting as pall-bearers were her six sons Herman, Richard, Elmer, Wilmer, Harry and James Juffer.

The attendants were Patty McCabe, who wore a baby blue lace and net dress and Dwayne McCarthy, best man, who like the groom, appeared in a dark suit. After the wedding dinner was served to approximately 60 guests at the Parish Hall in Marion. Tuesday evening another dinner was sponsored by all the Juffer relatives which was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed De Vos. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Juffer will make their home in Yankton where his is employed by the Great Northern Railroad. Mrs. Juffer was employed as a clerk at the Temple Dept. Store in Marion before her marriage.1
