Esther was born February 16, 1918, in rural New Albin, to George and Ella (Reinke) Meyer. She was a lifelong New Albin resident. In 1943, she married Walter Neuman; he died in December 1959. She later married Paul Breeser on March 10, 1960. She was employed at the Lansing Button Factory. She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in New Albin. She is survived by her husband, Paul; one daughter, Katherine (Denny) Nesheim of Waukon, Iowa; one son-in-law, Gary Kottman, Farmersburg, Iowa; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold (Eunice) Meyer, Eitzen, Minnesota, and Fremont (Evelyn) Meyer of New Albin; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her first husband, Walter, she is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sharon Kottman; and a brother, Raymond Mier. Roble Funeral Service, Spring Grove, Minnesota, assisted the family.

Fremont was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ronald Meyer; one granddaughter, Anne Staggemeyer; one great-grandchild, Sabrina Schuttemeier; one sister, Esther Breeser; and one brother, Raymond Meyer. Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, Caledonia, MN was in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Grace; four children: Victor (Kathy) Whalen, of Baraboo; Linda Stolte, of Rock Springs; Pamela Ernstmeyer, and her fiance, Tom Hatch, of Reedsburg and Michael (Jodi) Whalen, of Loganville; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a special friend, Eli; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson: Tyler Ernstmeyer; one great grandson: Dylan Stolte and three brothers: Herbert, Leonard and James Whalen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reedsburg with Father David Carrano officiating. Interment will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Melancthon Creek at a later date. There will be a visitation from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church. The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family.
