She continued to live in the Wall area and was united in marriage to Frank Kleinschmit on March 11, 1935 where they made their home. Shandon assisted her husband in his business, Kleinschmit Construction. She was an active member of the Methodist Church and its Woman’s Auxiliary for many years and worked on many projects for the church including the printing of the cookbooks, helping with the bazaars and serving dinners to families. She was a friend to many. She loved cooking and having friends and family for dinner and for the holidays. As far as she was concerned, the more the merrier. She enjoyed her family, playing games with her grandchildren, and gardening. She liked camping in the Black Hills with Frank where they would take their fifth wheel and enjoy the lakes and fishing.

Grateful for having shared her life include two daughters, Luann Spence of Grove, Oklahoma and Mona Rae Sims of Phoenix, Arizona; one son Douglas Kleinschmit and his wife Lola of Wall; five grandchildren, Lance Spence of Clarksville, Arkansas, Roxann Cool of El Dorado, Kansas, Jimmie Sims of Phoenix, Arizona, Kimberly Spence of Harrisonville, Missouri and Nathan Kleinschmit of Wall; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eunice Lewis of Rapid City, and Doris Clark of Albuquerque, New Mexico; a brother, Lloyd Wood of Hyde Park, Massachusetts; and a sister-in-law, Jewell Wood of Tallahassee, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Kleinschmit on December 12, 1992; her parents William and Erma Wood; a brother Merwyn Wood; a sister Millie Kennedy and a great- grandson, Blake Cool.

Shandon Louise (Wood) Kleinschmit, age 89, of Wall, South Dakota died Tuesday morning, February 24, 2004 at the Good Samaritan Center in New Underwood.

Closed casket visitation was held 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, at the Rush Funeral Chapel in Wall.

Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 27, at the United Methodist Church in Wall, with Pastor Jim Cissell officiating.

Interment was in the Wall Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has established a memorial.

Eunice L. Wood was born December 22, 1911, in Irene, South Dakota, the daughter of William and Erma (Conklin) Wood. She started her schooling in Gayville, South Dakota, until the fourth grade when the family moved to Scotland, South Dakota. In 1925, the family moved to a ranch northeast of Wall, where she continued her education.

Eunice was united in marriage to Frederick W. "Fred" Lewis on September 29, 1928, in Sturgis, South Dakota. They made their home on a farm near Creighton until moving into Wall in 1930. Fred operated the Star Mail route between Wall and Pedro. Later he and Eunice owned and operated a service station and store along with an implement and trucking business in Wall.

In 1947, they moved to the Townview Farm northwest of Wall. In the late seventies, they semi-retired, and in October 1984 they moved into the Westhills Village Retirement Home in Rapid City.

After her husband’s death on July 31, 1986, she continued to reside in Rapid City until moving into the Good Samaritan Center in New Underwood.

Survivors include one sister Doris Clark of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one brother Lloyd Wood of Hide Park, Massachusetts; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband Fred, Eunice was preceded in death by two sisters Mildred Kennedy and Shandon Kleinschmit; one brother Merwyn Wood; one niece Donna Wood; three nephews William Reed, Blake Cool, and Curtis Spence.

Visitation was held 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, at the Rush Funeral Chapel in Wall, and one hour preceding the services at the church on Friday.

Funeral services were held 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 9, at the United Methodist Church in Wall, with Pastor Brad Kattelmann officiating.

Graveside services with Eastern Star services by the O.E.S. Chapter #100 of Philip, was held in the Wall Cemetery.

A memorial is established.

Neoma June Keller was born June 1, 1931, in Wall, South Dakota, to Henry and Elsie (Clausen) Eckmann. Neoma graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1949. On July 12, 1949, Neoma married George Keller in Pierre, South Dakota. While in Columbus, Neoma worked at Richmond Gordman's for several years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, and playing bean bag toss at the Senior Center in Geneva.

Gilbert H. Eckmann, son of Elsie (Clausen) and Henry Eckmann, was born on June 7, 1927 at Bloomfield, Nebraska. He attended Bloomfield Rural Schools. He married Norma Brunken on June 22, 1947 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Bloomfield. Five children were born to them: Terry, Jan, Brad, Donna and Kevin. They lived in Bloomfield and Wall, South Dakota throughout their life. He was a farmer until retiring and began to drive a feed truck for Bloomfield Co-Op. After retiring from the Co-Op, he enjoyed quilting and gardening. He was a member of the Good Shepherd Church in Lindy, Nebraska and St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Bloomfield. Gilbert was also a member of the ruritans, a director on several pig co-op boards and south hill township board.

He died on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Bloomfield Good Samaritan in Bloomfield, Nebraska.

He is survived by his wife, Norma; children, Terry (Peggy) of Bloomfield, NE, Jan (Tex) Hutoll of David City, NE, Brad (Connie), Donna (Keith) Nielsen, Kevin (Kathy); 10 grandchildren; 11 great-granddaughters; sisters, Clarribel Wulf of Norfolk, NE, Marva VanVelkingburg of Columbus, NE, and Darlene Kotil of Lincoln, NE.

He is preceded in death by parents, Elsie and Henry; two sisters, Evelyn Zimmerman and Naomi Keller; and one brother, Leon Eckmann.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Johanna (Feilmeier) Sudbeck, her husband, Edward B. Goeden, son, Francis Goeden, granddaughter, Jennifer Peterson, brother, Joseph Sudbeck, and sister-in-law, Charlotte (Shirley) Sudbeck.

Funeral services will be August 10, 2006 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Menominee, NE. Burial will be in the St. Boniface parish cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Bonertz, Nicholas Goeden, Jeremy Goeden, Craig Lammers, Myles Lammers, Wes Wortmann, Travis Becker, and Curtis Becker.
